Bu has 15% 3bet after 250 hands ( 24/20/3, wts 17). His BU 3b Range is polarised: previously he three bet A3s versus my CO opened. Fold v 4b is 1/1.
I'm not sure what is the most effective way of battling this type of player.
Here, and especially since we are deep I think it may be possible to flat pocket pairs out of position with the intention of check raise bluffing a lot of flops representing a very strong range.
In the actual hand we hit our set so it was tempting to slow play but I decided to stick to the original plan. Theoretically I guess we should raise more but I expect villain to have a hand so rarely here I want to be able to do this cheaply and with a wide range (accepting that sometimes he gets a good price when he flops a flush or straight draw).
Is this thinking reasonable? Or do you prefer to just 4b as a bluff. I have no evidence that he is 5b shoving light so the plan would be to 4b/fold.
