Hi there, am Ivo, professional pokerplayer from Estonia (read: unemployed lazy person who's got lots of free time) and i am addicted pokerwannabe.
I apologize for bad english, being forced to learn the German is school and english teacher whas tv/internet.
I've been playing for 4 years, some good moments, some bad, I've tried everything-cash, omaha, mtt/stt etc but again and again returned to 45man sngs.
Weiki weiki, my old diary, lets play a bit again. Last 2 years whas fun, did not play poker allmost. just a littlebit. Its time a personal br challange again, started with 91c, atm 57$, i play spin'nd gos. Goal? Well there is not gona be one, just A game, no tilt and drunkpoker.

This is one older hand that still bothers me.
Two fishy players who love to see flop and fold to cbet, dry flop, ugly turn, horrible fold from me.

I like the way you think!

      Good luck.

I'm pretty much the opposite of you.

I play cash, and zoom, and SnGs own my ass.

I'll follow your blog -- maybe I'll learn something!

      In the strategy article
How do You Play Overpairs? is this encouraging statement:

"When you are behind on the flop, you are usually way behind. The outlook is best when you have a flush draw or are facing two pair. This is because you usually only have one chance to improve your hand when you have an overpair: a set (though even then you can lose the hand). You simply don't have a drawing hand and can't win if you don't improve."

Just as an exercise, I filtered my entire HM2 database for AA hands.
      I have played them 596 times, I've lost on only 70 occasions, but I've won only $176 net -- W=$331 and L=$155
In terms of bb -- it is WAY closer.

These are all cash games, though.

In SnGs, there is another dynamic, since an AA hand makes or breaks an entire tournament, not just an easily replaceable stack.

      Hi,
i start with 15 tables, sometimes 8 if am in mood to play A game, cant play with less then that, there are bad temptations like fb and forums and staff. Usual is abaut 3h, then little rest and 2. set. When i start to play i remember that i did play 10-15h but..
The world is changed, I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air

I know that up there is low traffic but i worry about it after i get there.

In the strategy articleHow do You Play Overpairs? is this encouraging statement:

I like to keep simple things as simple as i can. AA means that am all in preflop even if there is postflop action, its still preflop ai for me.

Good luck with finding a backer Reggie :)

You seem fixated on bad beats, it is not healthy.

You are playing in the games with most fish (some may disagree) and as such you are gaining a huge ROI due to fish stacking off with Ax, Kx, Qx and low pairs when you are showing huge strength shoving AA, KK & QQ. Given this range you WILL lose ~20% of the time...

AA Shoves are easy, some don't hold, most do, that's the game. They just seem to hurt more. So why get worried/upset about this?

I would spend more time looking at hands you played incorrectly or where perhaps a different line could have gained you more chips. That is my idea on how to improve.

There's simple rule of bad beats.

I just need to let this negative energy aut. I dont care if i loose 80/20 ors. but sometimes if you loose 4-5 times in verry short time, i need to post that just for myself-if its here, am free again.

Good luck with finding a backer Reggie

      Thank you,
i have done this way to many times, diffrent games, stakes, rooms. I am to conservative, like to play "safe" it means that usually i dont loose but then offten i dont won big as well.
I would spend more time looking at hands you played incorrectly or where perhaps a different line could have gained you more chips. That is my idea on how to improve.

Agree. I need to loose up littlebit, this niti 10/8 works in nanostakes, fish does not care if nit raises-aj is nuts and he must shove. It means that there is only few hands that i play postflop. I allmost never bluff exept cbet but if i mange to find backers then i think i will post a lot more hands with more sophisticated postflop action.
