Wat?

They are trying to make it -EV for men to play in that event and avoid situations like just about every year since they made a Ladies event.

Why can't they just make it a women only event in all fairness?

It would be unconstitutional. In the US, you can discriminate pretty freely based on age (so the Seniors' event is cool), but it's super hard to exclude a gender from an activity entirely without providing a strong reason that gender plays a role in that activity (so you can, for example, keep men out of the women's bathroom).

Doing it this way falls legally along the lines of "Ladies' Night" at a bar - it isn't technically excluding anyone, and they can show an actual reason why it's done for financial reasons.

I hope there's some joker who still buys in for $10,000 lol.

Oh it's for real, I thought it was some kind of a joke :)

Btw how many players do you expect at the $111k? Honestly I'd be surprised to see less than 100 players

Just wrote about that actually

Over 100 (could be a good bet actually) easily IMO. The $100,000 events at the Aussies Millions and PCA etc get enough runners to suggest there will easily be 100 in this. Over 100 enter the $50k players champ and thats mixed games.

It'll get 144. No more, no less. I'm an expert in these matters.

Yea, I think even 200 could be possible, though my personal guess is 168.
