In just over two weeks’ time, two of PokerStars biggest Sunday tournaments, the Sunday Million and Sunday Storm, will be celebrating their birthdays with special bumper prizepools.
On Sunday, February 4, the two events will guarantee a combined $11 million with PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship Platinum Passes to be won as well.
The Sunday Storm celebrates its 7th anniversary at 13:00 ET on February 4 with a $1 million guarantee, including a minimum of $100,000 for first place.
Its big brother, The Sunday Million, which first appeared on March 6, 2006, marks its 12th birthday at 14:00 ET the same day with a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million, including $1 million for first place.
Eliminated players in either tournament have the option to re-enter up to three times and should you finish in the money in both tournaments, you will be entered into a freeroll to win one of two Platinum Passes to the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship, a $25,000 buy-in event due to take place in the Bahamas next January.
The freeroll will start shortly after both tournaments have made it to the money and the Platinum Passes, worth $30,000 each, will be awarded to the top two finishers. The next 50 finishers will receive $11 Sunday Storm tickets.
How to qualify
While the regular buy-in price for both remains the same ($11 for the Sunday Storm, $215 for the Sunday Million), there are a range of satellites to help you get there for a fraction of the cost.
Players can win their entry to the Sunday Million through special Spin & Go's, priced at $6 a spin. These will be rewarding $215 Sunday Million Anniversary entries, $22 Sunday Million Anniversary satellite tickets and $11 Anniversary Sunday tickets.
$11 Anniversary Sunday tickets can be used to play either the Sunday Storm Anniversary tournament or in the $11 Sunday Million Anniversary qualifiers.
