In case you missed it, we reviewed the new Raise Your Edge training tool Pairrd.

It's a dynamic way to memorise pre and post flop strategy. It forces you to test your own knowledge on different spots as well as giving you the explanation on why you should take the lines it suggests. This is includes hours and hours of video from bencb.

In training terms, it is the next best thing to getting a hand review from Benjamin Rolle himself....

...which is precisely what you can win this month at PokerStrategy.com. bencb has kindly agreed to review a tricky MTT poker hand from one of our members this month and a custom made Pairrd interactive quiz. On top of that the lucky winner will get a free month at Pairrd!

Get a hand review from bencb
All you have to do to be in with a shot at this unique opportunity is to post in this thread before June 21 with a hand you played from a recent MTT that you wanted feedback on.

Make sure to post the stakes, the blind level, any reads you had, the payouts if it is close to the money and any other questions you had.

We will pick a hand to be reviewed and announce the winner in this thread. Shortly after Ben will be along to give your hand an elite level dissection and custom quiz!

$10 sunday special on GG. about 10 away from bubble. Min cash $19.05 we are table chip leader with 55bb , villian is unknown and has 18bb, pre flop i think is standard maybe should go 2.2 instead of 2bb. I x flop as villian has 15bb left and this doesn't hit his range very well, give him a small chance to bluff if he has any there with the over bet shove thats not AQ for value, on the turn i bet 1/3 pot at the time i thought he bets most his Qx on the x flop, but now i think actually could x back looking to improve on later streets for free, i bet small again on the river which i dont like when the flush misses and the board double pairs the only thing that calls us is surely the Qx,22,A2s. which we lose to. and if he raises we have to fold bluff catching cant be done here as we have the nut flush blocker and TPTK. what should i have done if i continue playing like that i will surely bleed chips.
many thinks for taking the time too look over hands for others good luck tonight on the day 2.

BPL11/12: raises 360 to 660 UTG I opened for 2.2bb called from MP and BB.
* FLOP * [Qh 5c Td]
BB checks, on me I think, I do not like flop, decided to check had a read about MP being aggressive post flop, read based on postflop aggr%stat 23% 7 out of 30 situations 85 hands total. Also I have seen him being sticky on flops did not wanted to blow up pot. MP checked behind.
* TURN * [Qh 5c Td] [9h]
BB checked on me I bet 900 3bb in 2450 8bb thought I was wrong on the flop decided to take it down cheaply, MP raised for 2700 9bb BB cold calls at this point I think range of MP has some two pairs QT T9 Q9 or some straight KJ J8, BB call I think two pair heavy too like T9 Q9 QT fmy view is my hand is weak to call raise on the Turn. Am I correct here? Is being Overpair matter here so much? I think AA becomes same as AQ at this point. Decided to fold. Save my stack for further situations.
* RIVER * [Qh 5c Td 9h] [7c]
MP shoves for 4887 16.2bb in 29.2bb
BB folds

Hello, here's my hand.
Maybe I won't win due to the fact am a Strategy moderator. Anyway, that's a good exercise for when I post on the RYE TMC private discord channel (I bought the expertise course). Let me know if I'm doing well or not.

We're eight players left in a 6-max club on PokerStars, and I'm the BB facing an open from the BU (eventually, we'll be the 1st and 2nd classified in this tourney).
The pay-out:

PokerStars - 3500/7000 Ante 875 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

SB: 665,653 (95.1 bb)
Hero (BB): 271,000 (38.7 bb)
CO: 224,122 (32 bb)
BTN: 163,108 (23.3 bb)

4 players post ante of 875, SB posts 3,500, Hero posts BB 7,000

Pre Flop: (pot: 14,000) Hero has 8♠: 7♥:
fold, BTN raises to 16,450, fold, Hero calls 9,450

Villain (VPIP 37 / PFR 27 / 3B 11) is quite aggressive, opening 55% from that position (6/11). The sample size is 173 hands played vs him. He's now short, so he should play fewer hands, something like this IMO:

22+,A2s+,K3s+,Q4s+,J5s+,T6s+,96s+,86s+,76s,65s,54s,A2o+,K8o+,Q9o+,J9o+,T9o.

Vs his 2.35bb open, I defend every pair, suited hands, offsuit connectors until 65o, some of the one-gapper hands and the best offsuit high cards hands:

A9s-A2s,KTs-K2s,Q2s+,J2s+,T2s+,92s+,82s+,72s+,62s+,52s+,42s+,32s,ATo-A2o,KJo-K6o,Q8o+,J8o+,T8o+,97o+,86o+,76o,65o

Flop: (39,900, 2 players) 6♥: 4♦: T♠:

I pick double gutshot and will continue with my hand vs most of Cbets, based on the villain bet size.

Hero checks, BTN bets 24,738, Hero calls 24,738

I think check/calling is better than shoving due to the ICM. Am I right?
The opponent can easily bet the flop and check the turn, after my call, on many middle/low cards, so I can reach the river paying only one bet, having good odds, despite his short stack.
He Cbets 40% (2/5) and, also if the sample is small, for he's a shorty, I think he's betting every made hand, middle to overpair, draws, the better backdoor draws, and some of the big offsuit aces:

I defend every pair and draws, even gutshots.

Turn: (89,376, 2 players) K♥:
Hero checks, BTN checks

The turn goes check/check, like from me expected sometimes.

River: (89,376, 2 players) 5♣:

I have rivered the nuts, whereas the villain could check back his 2nd/3rd pairs, under pairs to the King or Ten, for we are almost at the seven handed final table. He shouldn't have Kings, sets, double pairs, or overpairs after checking back the turn with his shallow stack. Here I prefer leading/donking my nut straight. I choose a nearly pot size bet, I wouldn't shove because IMO opponent can't find a call for his tourney life, but he can if he can spare some chips.

Hero bets 77,000, BTN calls 77,000

Results: 243,376 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: 6♥: 4♦: T♠: K♥: 5♣:

Hero shows 8♠: 7♥:: (Straight, Eight High)
(Pre 37%, Flop 34%, Turn 18%)

BTN mucks T♥: A♦:: (One Pair, Tens)
(Pre 63%, Flop 66%, Turn 82%)

Hero wins 243,376

What do you think of my hand conduction? And of my TP?
Am I doing well? I'm still studying and just arrived at the leading/donking module on the OOP play as a cold caller from the BB. ;)

Many thanks for the opportunity, CYA. _thumbsup:

Hey i am Andil97 from Germany . A few weaks ago i started to push my ABI from 5$ higher by mixing in more soft 33$ and 55$ Tournaments, and then last Sunday i got an interesting Hand in the Bigger 33 Final 70 Players(already ITM). I would love to here Bencbs opinion about facing overbet there on the River.

So we are 8-handed and I open KQo from utg+1 with 46BB. The direct Guy to my Left(60BB- solid palyer from sharkscope stats) makes a starndard 3x 3bet and i call the 3bet. Maybe this is already the first Mistake in this Hand. Flatting the 3bet seems a little bit loose in this Positions.

FLOP: Kh 6d 2c
I check to him he makes a standard 1/3 cbet and i call - Pretty standard no need for raising and keep his bluffs in

Turn: 6h
i check and he checks behind. Now i feel pretty confident that i have the best Hand since AK and AA should bet once more on The turn

River: 4d
So now i thought about value betting it myself, but i think he has a ton of air in his range and some QQ JJ 1010 and maybe weaker Kx. Weaker Kx he should value bet himself and maybe also Some QQ and JJ for value from my 77 88 99. So i decided to check instead of a small value bet.
Then he Decided to overbet jam the River pretty fast( 86K in a Pot of 65k).
I have probably the best bluffcatcher here with top pair good kicker, but on the otherside i rarely see Bluffs here. Is here really truning his Aj Aq A10 in a bluff there. I ended u calling because of MDF, i can not fold every K here.

So now my main two Problems in this Hand are:
Can i call the 3bet Preflop ?
Can i play more exploitative on the River and maybe fold my KQ Herofold>herocall, or is it just a cooler ?

So I just did the Quiz on pairrd, and i wanted to thanks RYE for the Review:f_drink:
Biggest misttake was the defend to the 3 bet preflop and not value betting myself on the River.
I am going to use that free Month of Paiird as much as i can to improve my game and find leaks.

Andi
