Hello guys,

My name is Doychin Doychev and I am Bulgarian fun poker player. In general I work in IT industry but have passion for poker since 2008. After playing for several years decided to cash out my profit and quit for a while because had another important things to take care of. Several months back in April 2021 return back to the game, which was so dramatically changed that I definitely needed studying to catch up with another regular players. Started again with beginner's articles in PokerStrategy and moved further. Currently Playing NL10 and NL16 ZOOM in PokerStars. I like playing normal tables as well but do not have so much time because of my daily job, and normal things we should take care of, therefore I play mostly zoom tables. PLO took my attention recently and started studying it by watching all videos by kyyberi and will definitely in the future start playing it but for now will stick with Hold'Em.

Unfortunately in Bulgaria there aren't many options for poker players - Pokerstars and Ipoker Network. For me Ipoker is not an option as well because of the huge rake which is a robbery. I am stucked atm with PokerStars but will gladly experience other sites if they decided to invest in Bulgarian market.

My current Bankroll: $819.35

Short term goals:
Studying( ranges, articles, videos ) 1.5hours/day
Play at least 2hours/day
Review hands after session
Concentrate during study/play. No twitch, youtube!
Weekly updates in Blog.

Long term goals:
Be profitable at NL50
Reach $5000 bankroll in PokerStars
Play at least 25k hands a month
Learn GTO style

Very long term goals
Buying equipment to start my own stream

I was inspired by so many new blogs and decide to start and maintain my own one. It definitely will motivate me to play more and track my progress on weekly, monthly basis.

Regards
ddoichev

Hi ddoichev,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com EN community blogs :welcome:
What sort of IT work do you do?
When I was working I was the IT Dept manager at a printing plant. It was (at the time -- late '90s ) a state-of-the art setup, with everything being either run or managed by computers. We had a wide range of OSs there -- everything from OS2, through several versions of Windows and some unix/linux. It was quite the job.

hey maugr1s,

I used to be an Web&Middleware engineer for an outsourcing company. We support update and patch Application servers, Web servers and UNIX/LINUX systems. For 2 years I am leading a team of such engineers and very happy how we perform. Recently we developed our skills on another level and now working mainly on Automation, DevOps, and Cloud systems for our clients. Frankly I am very happy from my job and team. There isn't much pressure and can keep on track with poker after office hours, no overtime or working late.

Today was a good profitable day at the tables. Nothing special with the hands after analysis, made 1-2 bluffs and some did not succeeded but that is life I guess and sometimes we ran into villain's top range xD .

I would like to hear your opinions on the hand if possible. Unknown opponent - only 20 hands but looked quite stable. Actually I don't know whether this is a profitable shove against them. We are definitely behind their calling range

MP2 35.89% 35.42% 0.47% AhTh
MP3 64.11% 63.64% 0.47% JJ-66, KhQh, KhJh, JhTh, 9h8h, Ad5d, As5s, Ac5c

and there aren't many better hands they can fold except AQs, AJs, AKo(if they do not shove preflop). If they flat the half of the combos of AKo, we have totally 12combos that fold, not so much FE. I don't think that any pair from 66-JJ can fold here on this board and these are 36 combos.

Unfortunately had a terrible end of the week, but it is fine we can not always run good :)

Spoiler

Nevertheless I am very happy of the volume, the studies and the fact that did not tilted so hard after these terrible sessions. Next week will be better for sure.
These days will post and monthly graphs, unfortunately after successful July we will have almost break even August.

Hey guys,

We officially survived through terrible August and made also a little profit after successful session yesterday.

Spoiler

I also decided to change the format and will play only regular tables instead of zoom tables. The reason behind it was the softer pool as always and the edge we get when having more information the opponents. There are also disadvantages off course - less volume and irritation when I have to reopen tables when fish sit out and other regs immediately close sit out with the fish.

New Long Term Goal:

25k hands per month

We will see how the September goes soon :)

hello guys,

Septembers starts exactly where August left us - Roller-coaster. We are going upside and downside and starting to wonder whether the problem is somewhere in my play. I find a lot of spew in my game but there were a lot of suck outs as well. And the strange thing is we actually can't win NL16 pool atm and it is so soft and full of fishes. I will not post any bad beats in the thread as there are nothing to discuss. Just to have an idea what is going on with my game post my most loosing hands from today.

Very happy with the volume btw. I will definitely play another session tonight and see how it goes. But should stop complaining for now :)

Tonight's session was exactly the opposite, fishes paid out our value hands and we got back some of the loses in the morning.

Some interesting hands:

Dream flop, dream opponents!

The same opponent from previous hand as CO. My note for them was very passive - call down nut flush on paired board. I was super annoyed when they 3bet the river and was thinking they do not have J9o and Js9s, so we actually loose only to Jh9h. Unfortunately they showed us exactly this hand. What I can improve here probably is betting the Turn as he is a big fish considering previous hand.

I was really frightened by the Queen on the turn because was running really bad back then, fortunately it ended with a brick :)

Second time I flop a royal. Honestly I am not aware how to get value
I thought that it will be good to target monster hands when they open raise from UTG - 2 pairs +. Unfortunately they didn't have it this time.

Well played. I think we have to raise versus small cbet size being super deep. You can throw some QdXx combos as semibluff. 3bet preflop would likely be fine as well but depends on villain type.

Hello guys,

Our journey continues and we are doing fine. Still playing NL16 regular tables but hopefully we will shot NL25 soon if we run and play good. Still I see a lot of spew in my game postflop, especially overfolding in same spots and overcalling in others. :)

Current Bankroll: $990

Some interesting hands we can discuss:

Villain:22/16/13.0 - 150hands
We are deep and therefore I flat call the 4bet preflop because we can stack our opponent if we hit good.
OTF: I expect them to bet probably all of their range so I guess call is more than fine.
OTT: When they check on Turn I believe they have a hand like QQ-KK, AQ, ATs and they will call me with all hands that beat me and fold QQ-KK.
OTR: I chop with weaker Ahigh and expect from them to bet AK and KK when Turn go x-x. Again do not see a reason for betting as don't think they will fold Ax type of hands and QQ is not calling definitely.

What do you guys think?

Hi there, I am sorry to not see a discussion about the hand - still, any updates from your side? Lucky you did not loose the max in the last hand!
