Multi-Table Tournaments have those short breaks every hour, in which they allow you to do something else rather than playing.
Whether you are playing a freeroll or a tournament with a significant prize, the purpose is, obviously, getting to the final table and eventually winning the whole thing. This is why you should use anything you can get in order to get that extra edge needed for another hour of play.
So what do you do in those (typically 5) minutes in between play sessions?

Usually have a quick cigarette 3mins, go bathroom 1min, watch the stats at the table 1min...
To avoid the whole difficult topic of what to do in the breaks i simply don't play mtts.

I multitable so i just play in the other tournaments.
I have the BR for 5$ +0.5 tournaments. I play 2 SnG's, 1 DoN and 1 Mtt at the same time. when one finishes i start another one, if there's no Mtt i play another SnG. At the end of the session i draw a line and see how i did.
Break 1: destroy something out of frustration caused by the bad beat on the last hand before the break.
Break 2: clumsily try to repair stuff broken during break 1. Excessively shout profanities.
Break 3: Answer the cops who have been knocking on my door for ten minutes. Explain why I'm breaking stuff and cursing my throat out at 3am.
Break 4 (if I make it this far): hallucinate for 5 minutes, run out the back door screaming I'm chasing a flush draw.
dreaming that i get AA next hand and double up ... and win tournament... buy car/house/bitches

but when break is over ... i just run with my QQ,KK into AA and my dreams are over ♦
