Hello,

I'm Mark from Croatia, 19 years old. Currently I work part-time as financial advisor and playing soccer in 4th league. As I don't have enough money, hard to find some normal job and very bad situation in country, it's normal to find some other source of money and my decision fallen on poker.

My history of poker play is about -100€ including starting capital from PS.
Playing SNGs and MTTs is 95% of my poker and from big upswings to bigger downswings is my life poker story. That 's result of no BRM because lack of discipline which follows me from betting days. When everything go up, then everythings great and I became pro player which is unbeateable, but when I lose few buyins unlucky I immediatelly must return them if that unsuccesfull my limits go up and we all know how it ends.

My biggest succes were: 2€ to 94€ at cardoza poker, 10$ to 60$ at pokerstars, 50€ to 400€ (2nd in some tournament for 350€).

So, when I maximally concentrate at start and playing according to strategy I always go up. But like I said, my main problem is that I don't know to lose and I hope with clearing my goals with me and You it will help me to become longterm good player.

Also, I will deposit today my last 40€ to titan poker what 's my last money I invest in poker. If I lose this, I will realize that I'm not for this.

At start I will play 9-12 tables and focus to have good winrate and get solid money from bonuses. Until Tuesday I will play more than 2-3x per day 2h sessions and then I will organize for other days.

IMPORTANT RULES (I will read this before every session):
1. Stick to BRM
2. Don't tilt
3. Keep your head clear and think only on poker
4. Don't play when tired and pissed

Short term goals (1-2 months):
:spade: Raise bankroll to 90€ (130$) and start play NL20
 Have good winrate
:diamond: Become Silver again
:club: Read all Basic and Bronze articles at least 1x weekly

 Become Gold and read all articles
:diamond: Attend to some coachings
:club: Improve play (that I feel I really improved)

Long term goals: (1-2 years):

:club: Keep this blog updated at least 3x weekly

Very long term goals: (3-5 years):
:spade: Raise bankrool to min. 1200€
 Become diamond and learn all articles
:diamond: Have monthly income from poker (min. 700$ for solid living)
:club: Keep this blog updated at least 4x weekly

STARTING BANK: 10$ (Victor Chandler)

I really hope for support and help from others,
thanks

Hi Mark,

Nice to see your goals, I really believe you can work on your game and become successfull .. I sort of given poker one last serious try these days too :-)

BTW. For the start, I would reccomend you not to play so many SnG tables, I started with like 4 at once + my best advise is to download ICM trainer light and ICM trainer itself and the first days maybe 80% train with then 20% play .. You will not win much money that way but you will loose nothing if you make a mistake :-)

Best wishes on your way up :-)

If you keep working on game, don't tilt you should reach your long term goal in year or less, but still important is to play good poker so at first, don't think about money.

Hi Mark

If you spend some time studying (videos, articles...) I am sure you will achieve your goals much sooner. I will follow your blog.

Hi there.Good to see you have set some goals to work toward.I am a bit more of a casual player but i just wanted to say a few things.
I play at Titan and my BR is currently 600 euros but I am still only silver.I think you would have to play about 140 $10 sngs a week to get to platinum which is quite a grind. Then to make a profit of $600 a month while playing these is a bit unreallistic.
Perhaps you should lower your goals a bit and concentrate on improving your game first and see where that takes you.
I hope this helps and enjoy your journey, after all poker should be fun.

Oh, thanks a lot for such support, I really didn't expekt so many replies...

Hvala katavich i extpan

@darkneo:
Yes, u are right, it unrealistic to expekt from 500-1000$ bank to make 600$ monthly. I will reduce it little. Thnx

Didn't have start like I expekted, at 1st session I lost all 9 tournaments, in next had 2nd and 3rd 2x. So, very bad, I'm already started to read again articles, but I must say some coinflips turned on wrong side in key moments so my morale isn't low.

After tournamets I took 2-3 heads up cashes on .10 and it was really good so currently my bank with little minus.

I will play at least 300 SNGs and if after that I'm under EV I will probably try something else (if not broke until then :D ).

See u on tables...

Hi,

long time no post from me. Nothing changed, I lost my all bankroll on HU NL50 after lost few bucks on tournaments. After that, I took break and think a little about everything.
Decided to start again but without depositing. I have only 20$ on TAF so I found some page to give 10$ free at Ipoker (victor chandler) with 25$ bonus after some points. But before I took that I decided to play SSS and read all articles.
I must say I did it, print all BASIC and BRONZE articles (thnx to exthpan :f_cool: ) and finally learn something about how to play good poker.
So, before 3 days I received this 10$, played few hours daily and this is result:

Released 5/25$ bonus and my bankroll now stands at 20,57€ which is about 28$.

I will play there until I release that bonus and get BR to at least 50€. Then probable withdraw and take some good bonus.

Little update after 5 days of playing

Not really playing SSS very well, mostly my good hands nobody call, especially from early position (I think in today's 800+ session nobody or maybe 1) and I will start to raise 3BB from early and sometimes from later, depend of players.
Also, my luck from last graph where my expected won was far smaller than money actually won is changed a lot and they just switched places.
Usually when I'm waiting to get on some good table (10+ in waiting list) I play 1-2 table of HU or SH and 80% profit I made is from that.
I 'm thinking to play that more after I make my bank bigger but 1st I want to make some decent money with SSS FR.

And I'm also happy that I don't tilt a lot, somehow I don't feel pressure because I know that's not my money but still when they river 2 or 3-outs who wouldn't be crazy?

That's mostly all for this short update...

I just figured out how to filter HU, SH and FR at PT3.
And amazed how bad I'm really. :s_o:

All profit I made was from HU and SH.

Please experts tell me what 's problem with my SSS?

I'm Blog of the week so I should deserve that with something :D

That was huge motivation :f_biggrin: and immediatelly
after I read that I started to play.

And result:

At start looked like another lose session on FR, also
lost 2BI at HU before, but at one moment, like pros do :s_biggrin: ,
I changed my game, played more loose than on SHC
and it payed off! No, I didn't been luckbox a lot, according
to graph I should even won couple bucks more, but 2x was at
right place at right time.
Until this LAG style gives me good profit like this, I'll stick to it.

Hi folks,

didn't play a lot this days because some stuff to do. Yesterday was at my 1st live tournament at Zagreb, lost AA vs KQ and later AJ vs KT, kings killed me both time.

I shipped some money at MTT's, u can see on "our succeses" section, little luck and little skill.

If someone interested to change 50-150$ pacific to pokerstars or moneybookers pls send me message or add me on msn: thezemo@hotmail.com , I want to deposit on some tracked account and become black here :D

Well, as I'm playing sports from time I know myself and many times I cried when I lost, that losing feeling still, after 10 years, I can't control.
Sometimes in sport, that 's great, because it keep pushing you to train harder and harder.
Is it same in poker?

After I blowed up about 80€ on victor chandler, I received 40$ at Pacific. Without BRM I drop to 8$ and then cashed that MTT of 250$ and that was all my bankroll.
Reading bronze articles about 3-4 times brought me some little profit with many hours of playing. After 1 lose session of about 5-10$ I was angry and sit at HU.
Luckily for me, had good cards and recover this 5-10$ and won 30-40$. But I know like 10+ times already I will lost this because no BRM.

Next 3 days after every losing session happened same. Only once I logout after -50$ on HU.

I'm really trying and thinking lot of time to find best game for me, is it HU, SSS or BSS but everything after good start finish with lose.

I'm still going pretty awesome at HU, trying to grind HU SNG 10+ and after about 30-40 tournaments I'm -EV.
I know at higher stakes I'm 110% concentrated and playing much better (folding good cards when I'm beaten, like few time QQ, JJ, KK, AK).

So, I was thinking to play this 10+ HU SNGs until I start to win some money there, because HU looks like the best for me.
Also, another reason why I played so small SSS is because very small traffic at pacific. If I double up, I must wait 30min until I can again return with 20BB, so very annoying. The best traffic is at 6max but I don't like that.

What are yours suggestion?

SSS

HU

So, like u see, I'm going great currently, but I'm afraid after some downswing and unlucky day I will be broke very soon. Also, I'm thinking a lot of withdraw most of my bankroll and focus on NL20 or continue with this HU SNG.

So, 2 years later I decide to update this blog. I was too lazy to open new one and write abt myself so I will just bump this.

Main reasons for doing this:
- improve english
- put plans "on paper"
- i'm in 6max skype study group w other great players from this community so should be fun posting/reading/trolling here
- fun

What's new?
I didn't see this blog long time and LOLed really hard when I saw some of my older posts. I'm glad to see how much I improved from that time and how hard work payoff.

Long story short, at the end of 2009 I was still having hard time w micros, half year later (summer 2010) my roll was ~12-15k (playing nl200-400), 2 months later busto (:D ), somehow survived till Feb this y, made ~10k in 1,5m w last 500$ and played nl50-1k until now.

Today, I'm starting new challenge coz bet I made w my friend and it 's:

2,5k -> 20k

There is story behind this amount of 20k, but will say abt that when it's going to be right time for it. Rakeback is included, cashouts also.

As my main problem this 1,5years as poker pro was cashing out too much money and unwillingness to movedown, this should keep me out from doing this. I was never BRM nit, 20BIs was everything I needed, but times r different, I'm older and wiser now and realizing that games r getting tougher so it's time to make some big money and enjoy later.

So, plan is like this:
25BI for every level - 5BI shot until nl400
Then I would play 200-600, depend of tables etc until magic 20k $ line.

Betting amount isn't too big and isn't too small, enough to keep me motivated. Bet started before few days and I'm up abt 200ish.

I play mostly 4-6 tables, really trying avoid autopiloting, taking lot of notes., thinking abt game. Probable my big problem is that I don't work a lot away from tables and will try harder w that (one more reason for starting this blog).

So, u can expect here some hhs, updates, lifechanging advices :D

p.s. there was lot of s**t going on during my poker career, when I 'll feel motivated will write whole story (maybe in parts) coz I think people can learn on my mistakes
