Correct check-raise, should I just have bet myself, were there too many opponents in the hand?

I don't mind the check-raise becasue the CO has taken the initiative on the flop when he could easily have taken a free card and check-raising the turn allows you to protect yourself vs lower pairs with 2 pair outs (there aren't many gutshots to protect against)

I think you played this fine.
