Hi there!

As the 8 completes some draws , checking to induce bluffs isn't the best move here imo.

I play bet/fold on this river with a sort of blocking bet like 480ish.

Hi all,

Check/fold the river is best. If I had JT, so I could get value from some worse 2pair combinations, I like bet/folding more. Here we don't have enough equity vs his calling range to bet/fold. If we check he will check behind a lot of 1 pair hands as well so we're getting to showdown quite a bit.

Could you give some extra information on this? What do you determine as his 'calling range' in this spot? How do you exactly calculate the equity?

If we check to him on the river, aren't we inducing bluffs too? Therefor aren't we missing value ?

I'm very sure you're right on this topic, but i'm just asking some questions because I would like to fully understand this hand. ♦

try to think of hands that beat you and figure out if any better hands are folding (they're probably not) then try to determine how many of those hand combinations are in his range based on his actions (say this number is 30 combinations). lastly, try to figure out if there's, in my example, 30 hands that you beat, AND call you. all this is assuming if you bet the river he won't bluff you off the best hand as well.
