How do you know he's a fish with only 7 hands?

I think either bet bigger on the river, like 38 because you'll get paid off with many Qx hands if he's a fish. Your small bet may give him the thought of raising whereas a bigger bet he'll be more scared to bluff.

there are a lot of draws that missed (hearts, 9T, AK - passive fish call AK often), so you could check/call.

But against an unknown I think just bet bigger and then fold to a raise.

I am having trouble sizing my river bets appropriately in this scenario. You said if we bet more, he is less likely to turn busted draws into bluffs.
Is that because our hand range looks stronger so he should assume he has less feQ or because he has to risk bigger $ amount as bluff?

Reason I have trouble is that I think "if I have to fold to a raise, then if I bet smaller, I lose less when I fold". I know its muddled thinking but cant seem to fix it.

The betsize is determined by the assumptions we make.
I assume he will call most Qx regardless of the betsize we chose.
But if we make it small, the times he has a busted draw he might start to think about the weird betsizing and that he could potentially raise to bluff us.

Of course if we assume that, we could even bet small to induce a raise. But in general people are more likely to be callhappy than raisehappy, so I'd go for max value and bet bigger.
