1/2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Elephant 0.87 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with J♦, T♦
2 folds, BU raises, SB folds, Hero 3-bets, BU caps, Hero calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 6♦, 2♥, 2♦ (2 players)
Hero bets, BU raises, Hero 3-bets, BU caps, Hero calls.

Turn: (8.25 BB) 9♥ (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets, Hero calls.

River: (10.25 BB) 4♦ (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets, Hero raises, BU 3-bets, Hero caps, BU calls.

Final Pot: 18.25 BB

Is this hand played correctly?
I raised preflop due to his high attempt to steal %. At flop tried to play aggressively, but he ain’t folding so I played passively the turn. Being HU probably best on river, so I capped.

Hmm, I wouldn't 3bet from the BB with Jx, you have the option to just call and c/r a good flop. As played, you should c/r or c/c the flop instead of a donkbet. River cap is a bit too much imo, there are more higher flushes in his range and some FHs (99, 66) than weaker holdings. Remember, he capped preflop.

Hi!

Preflop is matter of style. If you only 3bet with premiums you should add hands like this as well. But you may also just call it, all in all your play is no mistake at all.
Just realised this guy is maniacal preflop so I would also preffer to keep pot small OOP and play good postflop poker.

Problem is that his cap tells you close to nothing about his range but I surelly would not donk this flop as you have 0 FE against him and again his raise can be something wierd and building big pot against him is really not a good idea as he may have just 35 here and will bluff you out.

I would actually just c/c flop and play simply on odds and outs. Dont try to be tricky against these guys when you have 0 SDvalue. Wait for a hand and valuebet them and dont bother bluffing theme as this is exactly what maniac wants(since his irrational behaviour is profitable just against bluffs!)
