villian plays 16/11/2.9aggr factor resteals 10% of the time in blinds 75% fold to steal in BB. on the turn, i decided to float again since i have pair + FD. on river, with little time to think, i just AI to fold out any possible hand that beat me.

his bet sizing is weird, looks very bluffy on a pair board so i floated as i also have the FD giving me lots of outs.

I wouldn't bet the river, I really don't see anything worse calling you.

Nah, point me one better hand that's folding on river. He very often just has a missed fd on river and he's not going to c/cAI with that. If he's any good, he might balance that by c/cing QQ+ as well (even though I doubt it).

Are you calling shove when river blanks?

ya checkback river. i agree with pervious posters

Fold preflop, for 100BB you can generally not call SCs vs a 3bet even IP.

As played I like the call-call-shove line. It looks like he's never folding the river with TT/QQ/KK and especially AA, but imo he could actually do it because calling twice represents Jx perfectly. Also he doesn't expect us to neither bluff the river (there is virtually no air in our range, he probably even expects us to fold FDs on the turn) nor to valuebet any worse hand.

Btw one thing to consider is, that we cannot call the turn for odds & outs. So if we call the turn we have to shove the river once he checks to us - he's somewhat unlikely to 2ndbarrel this board with air, so we don't get the odds to call for our flush outs.

@ bierbaer: hi thks for your evaluation. Question is, vs is wide resteal range, what hands can we play profitably? I thought middling sc would give me good postflop playability IP.
Players at this limit do tend to prefer erring to the aggression side, esp in late - blinds position.

Ok so I wrote a post and then started "Propokertooling".
First I'll post my initial reasoning:

"Imo broadway hands are better to play back at a range like this (unless you're 4betbluffing in which case you can obv take any2 theoretically).
The reason is because when he 3bets hands like K9s you dominate it with KJo while you are dominated when holding 98s.
Also you should consider that 98s is more of a drawing hand so it relies on implied odds which you have against a strong range but not against a semiloose restealingrange. Of course you can argue you have some foldequity against the looser range, but as a matter of fact you're likely to not make enough moves postflop to compensate for this."

Ok and here's what I found out afterwards:
1) Our equity with 98s and KJo is about the same against a 10% range as well as an 8% range:
Hold'em Simulation ?
2,260,241,280 trials (Exhaustive)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
kjo 34.39% 741,837,816 70,765,188
10% 65.61% 1,447,638,276 70,765,188

Hold'em Simulation ?
856,152,000 trials (Exhaustive)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
98s 34.46% 292,288,752 5,488,612
10% 65.54% 558,374,636 5,488,612

Hold'em Simulation ?
671,223,168 trials (Exhaustive)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
98s 33.58% 223,426,728 3,907,892
8% 66.42% 443,888,548 3,907,892

Hold'em Simulation ?
1,828,740,672 trials (Exhaustive)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
kjo 32.34% 583,106,460 16,634,448
8% 67.66% 1,228,999,764 16,634,448

After seeig this I'd still argue that KJo plays better against an active restealer since it's a lot easier to capitalize on our equity when we hit:
F.e. with KJ on a J94 flop we can win some money from JT, QJ whereas with 98s on 984 there are a lot more scarecards when the opponent has something like K9 and additionally he is likely not putting as much money in the pot because there are more overpairs in our range (not to mention that we will flop 2pair more seldomly than a TP).

Hope this helps :-).

Edit: one more thing about the playability: 98s doesn't have good playability, quite the opposite. Of course if we flop an OESD or FD the playability is great, but in 3bet pots the 1pair hands are much more important because the stack to pot ratio is much smaller. And with 98 when we hit 1pair it will be a lot tougher to play than with KJ.

Nope... it's more that when I'm not sure about a spot I do the work and since I'm doing it anyway I can as well just post it.
