[Closed] 100: weak overpair vs c/r

All lines are possible, bet/calldown if you think he's bluffing, b/f if you think he's not bluffing and even a c/b can probably be justified although atm I don't see many reasons for it.

As for his checkraisingrange: Imo he could be checkraising KK or AA, it's certainly better to c/c but I think a lot of people make the mistake of not thinking thoroughly about your callingrange in this spot, they want to stack 99-QQ right away.

However, from my rush-experience some people are somewhat bluffhappy (even though they're tight preflop) and this is s board on which he can't have much which means we can be floating a ton in his eyes.
Also as you say he's somewhat unlikely to c/r QQ+ (although there might be some combos of those in his range).

So I think bet/calldown turn is ok, but it's close - you can definitely also argue for b/f turn.

agree w bierbaer. but i would prly fold on river. not many nl100 players has guts to shove with air on this board, so I think he is more on the value side.

btw why do you bet turn? do you want 2 streets of value (I don´t think you find worse hands paying two streets) or are more protecting vs overcards (btw would a good reg cbet overcards on this flop? prly yes on nl100 people cbet almost any flop).. I sometimes bet these boards and check on river for free SD, sometimes even try thin low value bet on river. But I think it is perfectly fine to check behind on turn and call any river - you can get some more value from his bluffing range.. What do you think?

EDIT - the point is also that by checking behind turn and beting river (if he checks to you) you get the same value for worse PPs (no need to protect vs their 4% equity) as if you bet turn + what is important you don´t end up being raised on turn and making dubious call on river with mediocre hand you don´t want to play for stacks.. And you also can get value from some bluffs.

i bet the turn for protection+thin value+free SD. checkback is a good play too, i am not sure if it is better. He showed up with AQ btw

This is my reason for betting the turn.
I doubt he checkraises a smaller PP so he almost certainly has overcards. While it's true that we will get a maximum of 1 street of value, I think most of the time we don't get any value at all unless he hits, so by betting the turn I just want him to fold his equity.

Notice that against a range that contains better hands as well this might not be a good play, but if we can say with confidence that he has overcards 95%+ of the time and he's always check-folding, a bet to make him fold his equityshare is actually a good play.

yy, again agree with your logics. Bet turn for free SD is good. But I also like checking behind turn for the reasons I mentioned.
