MP2 is a very decent reg 14/7/280; vs 3bet :fold 40% 4bet 20% (but only 5 situations)

there was some discussion going on lately abt how to play AK against (ABC, tight) regs and it was pointed out (by <3) that it may be a good idea to 3bet/fold (or just fold) instead of flatting beacause of their super tight 4bet range + us having blockers for most its part. I found it very interesting and decided to give it a try...

the only problem here is that i chose a very bad spot i guess, because of the EP limpers + the fact that it generated a bigger than normal raise on his part which means that my 3bet/fold would be very costly. It even led to a nasty decision wether not to call the push after all because of the odds (31% chip odds, which means that i should call if i think he doeas it not only with QQ+ but with AK as well).

i'm definitelly gonna try it again tough, just picking up a better spot.

is it a cold call then (maybe limpers would come along giving us great implied odds)? or maybe a fold as suggested by <3 and his 'new' approach?
any toughts will be much appreciated, cheers!

The 2 limpers make his range tighter and his raise bigger, so that means he'll also 4b looser.

My standard play would be too shove here... not sure if it's good.

R/F might be profitable but this is an expensive spot to try it. You can make it 450ish or a little bigger, youre 3b seems a little large.
What's he gonna open here? JJ+ AQ maybe AJ? TT? Some regs are gonna fold AK and even QQ to a 3bet but I think a lot of 'm will ship it in with those hands.

yeh this isnt a great spot for it mainly because the reg is isolating. when he isolates his opening range tightens which makes him raise/call a larger % of it. (even if you can get some of his range to fold). also its better for him to 4bet with the bottom of his range because of the overlay.

also i wouldnt be doing this against MOST regs on the 12s. most of them dont have a clue and are just auto-piloting. ie. most wont fold a hand like QQ/AK in this spot which is bad for you. id be more inclined to do this with good regs on a NIT reg (very tight PFR) with good history between us (no fucking around) and no limpers.

in this spot i probably just fold. we have to play oop and a flat costs us 1/7th our stack. the limpers do make it slightly better for us to flat because if they come along we have extra over-lay and more bad players making mistakes = good for us. but id still probably just fold it against his range.

when u flat here its so obvious that you have TT/JJ/AK that wont give up pre. its very easy for anyone with half a brain to play against you post-flop when they have position.
