both villian pretty much unknown. wanted to 4 bet to win some dead $, but when villian insta shove over and cold caller calls again i just folded. pretty standard 4bet fold right? was contemplating folding to the 3b since i think villian is tight. is that too weak?

if villian(s) are tight i really like just folding to the 3b. As played I like folding (to his 4b) b/c even though u r getting super good pot odds (and u only need to win like 28% to be b/e), u dont have the right odds.
Lets say MP2 range is QQ+, and the BB range is JJ+,AK (which are optimistic ranges imo), u still only have 18.4% which is below the pot odds required percentage.

After BB coldcalls I'd either just fold because his range is really strong, or overcall myself to hit either a Kxx or Axx flop.

I think 4betting doesn't have a great EV because we'll have close to no foldequity vs BB and also MP2s 3bettingrange is probably fairly strong given the positions.

However, if I 4bet I'd make it something like $29-$31. There's no need to make it that big - especially when we plan on folding to a shove.
