this hand occured on 50nl on william hill.

6max 50nl hold'em

utg opens 1.5 (has 200+ bb on his stack)

mp 3bets 5.5 (200+ bb on his stack)

bb(hero) calls (150+ bb on stack)

utg calls

Flop comes 789 with 2 clubs.

hero bets 9 (pot is 16.75)

utg calls,

mp folds.

turn is a 5d

hero checks

utg checks

river is a 9 (no clubs) so the board is 789 5 9

hero checks

utg bets 18.5

hero shoves 55.82

utg folds 88 (that is a full house, for those who don't belive me, guy sent me a pic of a hand)

hero mucks AK and sends a pic to the guy :o)

the question is, who played the hand better?

Haha, that must suck for him! Missclick or whatup?

No it's not!!!! guy had an explanation, he sent me this via email:

The reason I felt I had to fold because of the post flop play is like this.

When you bet $9 on the flop and I called, I thought it was obvious I had to have at least something. I forgot that people at these levels would call there with AT! I think I would have folded AT preflop lol, and if not I would definitely have folded it on the flop, mainly because with the guy behind me having reraised preflop, it would have been too risky to call 9 only to have to fold it if he pushed.

So when you check-raised all in on the river I thought you had to know I was betting with a real made hand at least as big as a straight. So I didn't think you could really push in with less than a full house yourself. The fact is, as far as full houses went, mine was quite bad.

I know that it was a mistake because of the preflop play, but its difficult to get everything back in line after so long out, this is honestly my second day of serious play in over 2 years so I'm making a lot of silly mistakes still! I'm still not all that unhappy with the fold. I made a mistake, but making the decision and sticking with it is better than just going "oh ffs I think I'm beat, I'll call anyway because I have a full house"!!

smart thinking player i guess but my questin is: who played this hand better, me or him?

As far as full houses go, his was the best. 99 is quads, and with no straight flushes possible, he folds second nutz. Since he didn't read you on quads, I guess it was bad play from him.

well no, i can have 97, 98, 95 in order to have a full can't I???

no, you need to go to bed, who calls 3bet with other hands like 97 98 94 or what was that.

both played their hands ugly. And folding full house that looses only by 9-9 means that the player has no clue what he is doing

No way he should ever ever fold there.

Regarding that JJ fold video, i think it was mostly down to the dumbass with KK who wouldn't shut up. I don't think Romanello would have found a fold if the other guy just sat there.

He outplayed himself.

your opponent must have WSOP bracelet, that was pro play

i couldn't fold the third nuts to be honest. unless that was the first hand the player raised in hours. but i agree that saying "please don't call me" is just incredibly stupid to say. No one would ever say that with a weak hand unless they're outleveling you
