About me
I'm 22 years old asian/dutch guy living in the Netherlands. Found out about poker only half year ago when I stopped playing an addictive online game and found out my old friends were playing poker and offered me a free $50 and said "give it a shot". The most important thing my friend said is look poker as a strategy game where you have nothing to lose, if you lose your $50 BR you quit, game over.

Poker career
2010, September - December
Started with PS's $50 on NL2 (shorthanded). December I was giving shots at NL5.

2011, January - June
Starting to give shots on NL10. Moved up to NL25.

2011, July - December
Struggling at NL25, moved down to NL10 for a month. Moved back to NL25. Decided to take some private coaching from a close friend around October. Crushed NL25 at the end of the year. Gave few shots at NL50 but didn't went too good.

2012, January - June
Had my biggest downswing ever on NL25 on january. Over 70k hands orso I was about 25BI below EV. Decided to take a break off poker and gotten into heads up poker after reading/watching some simple videos. March and April I was playing HU (nl50) and normal SH games. Since HU games gotten my attention I decided to move to HU compelety. May and June was a combination of HU cash (nl50) and HUSNG ($15 and $30).

2012, July - Present
Currently playing HUSNGs ($15 and $30 tables) and MTTs (up to $27).

My biggest leak when I was a noob at poker
Valuebet, valuebet and valuebet. As easy as it sounds its actually hard as this also implies hand reading etc. But I consider this as my biggest leak.

Well, what I could say, welcome to the bloggers team and keep on going :f_thumbsup:

FR or SH?
You gotta improve your red line losses cos it stifle your winnings :) I'm not saying that you should become loose aggressive monkey, but instead of that search where you leaking money away. =) GL on that!

Thanks and I play SH. I'm working very hard on my red line, I notice that as one of my biggest leaks on NL25. The first 10k hands I played on NL25 pretty much crushed me, so I'm trying to study what I did wrong and beat them. :)

NL25 graph updated. Running abit higher than the expected EV on NL25, but on NL10 I'm running way below my expected EV, about 500bb within 8k hands :f_eek:

Just did an awesome session of 875 hands, really proud of my postflop play. My non-SD winnings all came by playing good postflop, won alot of 15-30bb pots! And of course we're running below our EV when we play good postflop :f_mad:

Spoiler

Hand of the session: Fine play postflop but shitty play preflop? Or play was fine? HH posted on forum :f_biggrin:

Glad to find someone else who can laugh at a doomed hand like that, instead of raging at it. You've been improving uber-fast, I'm very impressed. How much time do you spend on Poker now, and how much time did you spend as a newbie?

Hey there,

As I newbie (NL2) I used the spend about 1-2 hours average a day.
The same when I reached NL5, but since I play more than study, it feels like I played more.
By the time I reached NL10 it started to get interesting, players slightly better and no hand histories about how the players play there. Got crushed for awhile, so I refused to give up this increased my average play time to about ~2-4 hours a day. (more time to study poker and learn to exploit regulars)
Now at NL25 its about 3-4 hours a day as well but weekends 4-5 hours. :)

Played 2 sessions today, 120mins in total, played about 1800 hands.
Winnings: -$10.22
Winnings EV: $10.98

Pretty happy today despite the suckouts and one very shitty played hand which costed me about 45BB... Hand here:
SH NL25 QQ poor played imo

Will try to updated the NL25 graph after every 5000 hands played.

Must say been abit lucky this session. Fair enough, it covers the crappy swing from last night.

Updated NL25 graph at first page, pretty happy with the non-sd winnings improvement. Reached 25k hands.

Tried to "outsqueeze" a guy with 16% squeeze over 1500 hands, hoping he'd fold...

Saturday 19-3-2011 session:
Time spend (excluding poker study/theory): 190 minutes
Hands played: 2622
Winnings: -$11.71
Winnings EV: -$24.37

Nothing else to say that pretty pissed at myself. Tried playing abit more looser and aggresive, didn't worked out, just not my style. This one hurted me so much. Wasn't even funny when I evaluated my own play afterwards.

ahh I did do it correctly just needed to shut down HEM before I did it and not keep it running :P

Hmm, today I tried being more aggresive preflop, didn't end up good at all. Have to check what to do vs those loose TAGs, kinda hard to beat them at their own game. I think I have to tighten up and don't bluff them often. Most loss comes from bluffing the loose TAGs (semi maniacs).
