bet/call river the way you played it imo or is that too spewy?
I prefer betting smaller like 9$ in a 21$ pot, that makes it easier to bet/fold aswell.

As played you have 25$ left to call here.. I don't think you can fold. You have the Q and the J so it's unlikely that he's gonna do this with a worse flush but he can be overplaying a lot of aces here or turning hands into a bluff.

If you bet $9 here I'd expect to get bluff raised often.

Yea your line kinda screams "flush" here or either bluff. His bet/call on river indicates a strong hand, maybe he has a set or AK with the king of spades.

So I agree with you: If he's a good, thinking player he's never gonna shove the river with a worse hand so bet/fold river is propaby best.

Since you hold Q and Jx would he really call you down with smt like ATs, A9s.
So I think I would prefer c/c river to look I´m scared flush and hope he would turn smt into bluff, since I would c/c that board a lot of times my lower flushes
