Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$500/$1000 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9:s, 9:d.
2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, 2 folds, BB 3-Bets, Hero calls, 2 folds, CO folds.

Flop: (37.48 SB) K:c, 2:c, 3:h (2 players)

Turn: (18.74 BB) 5:d (2 players)

River: (18.74 BB) A:s (2 players)

Final Pot: 18.74 BB.

I have 14.5 BB so I didnt want to shove directly but was rather looking to bet/call or shove basically any flop. Was the preflop shove the better option since 14.5BB is almost like 13?What if I had 16-17?

i shove preflop with 99 here. with 17+ maybe openraise can be ok good on some tables. what i don't like is playing 99 here postflop oop against 1 or 2 opponents. villains tend to call so lose ip and that will bring you in very difficult spots.
so push it preflop here! -> as played obv call because he can shove 77+ ajs+ kqs+ and with the invested chips and all the deadmoney the spot is too good to let go of your 99 here.
