Known players:

[tg]CO$20.85:///////;BU$10.45:///////;SB$51.64:///////;BB$10.00:///////;UTG1$25.25:///////;UTG2 (Hero)$9.61:///////;MP1$11.60:///////;MP2$29.18:///////;MP3$44.67:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is UTG2 with J:c, J:d.
UTG1 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, 6 folds, BB calls $0.50.

Flop: ($1.6) 8:c, 9:s, T:d (2 players)
BB bets $1.60, Hero calls $1.60.

Turn: ($4.8) 9:c (2 players)
BB bets $4.80, Hero calls $4.80.

River: ($14.4) K:c (2 players)
BB bets $2.85, Hero calls $2.46(All-In).

Final Pot: $19.71.

Villian is unknown.

Std raise preflop.

On the flop I have difficulty putting him on a range but the big bet is rather scary. I decide that my hand is to good to fold and that I would not mind going broke there. However I do not want to isolate myself against his better hands and decide to just call it down.

The turn he insta bets. My read is that the 9 made no difference to his hand meaning he did not flop 2 pair. I consider a shove there but I thought if I flat i remain the chance of checking behind on a cooler river.

River is bad but I am commited and I call.

If you can't put him on a range mineriva, you are essentially spewing money in my opinion.

You block the nutstraight significantly but there is a lot of pair+SD,2pairs,bottomstraight and so on in his range. The turn is actually a bad card in some degree.

I think I call the Flopbet but fold on this Turnbetsizing because 2:1 is really crappy. Your hand is not so good anymore due the timing speed, betsizing etc.

I knew the 9 was a very bad card but he insta bet psb. I thought if he has 2 pair or set and 9 filled his hand then he would tank a bit to consider either a check or a smaller bet. Also if the 9 counterfeit his hand ie T8 then he would also tank a bit. So on the turn I did have an idea of his range ie:

1) made str8
2) Two pair. ie AT.
3) pair and SD ie. 87s.

I thought that I had a lot of equity against this range but if I shove he only calls me with (1).

I take your point that maybe I should have read the insa bet + BETSIZE as the stronger part of his range.

Oh and :
