yeah i have champ, ran 23 BI below even on Stars at 10/25c in my 2nd month after being up 31 BI in 1st month, its the software system mate, nothing to do with the BS they try and call variance. We all hear of these downswings everyday from numerous players, whether it be a week, month, 6 months, even a year. Has anybody ever actually had a RNG online heater, like a real heater, you know good side of set over sets, fh over fh, flush over flush over a good sample of hands or time or do only a ridiculous amount of downswings occur? If so how does ths add up, guess what, it DOES'NT!

Sat down at two tables. Got first hand AA on one KK on the other, doubled up in both

Then throughout the next 10 mins got far too many monsters to be fair, flopped a full with 89s, picked up QQ-AA like nobody's business, AK a good few times. I think my VPIP was around 50% on both tables. Everyone else must have thought I was a crazy maniac, 3-betting almost every hand, which explains why I got far too many callers! Usually my VPIP is around 20, but i just couldn't help it ♦

I'm about 20 buyins below EV at 4NL on Cake. It's one reason I've switched to LHE--less variance, plus I can play 25LHE as opposed to being stuck at 4NL.

Classified, if you're convinced that online poker is rigged, try playing live. I think that even the most suspicious person knows that holdem in a poker room at a large, reputable live casino with good traffic is NOT rigged, at least until you get into the $50/$100 NL limits. And to play a six-hour session of $5LHE at the live casino cardroom you usually need a buyin of only about $100. For $2NL you might want to bring about $400. That's not big money for someone who wants to take poker seriously.

Had a lovely sess on nl2 FR a few days ago where I lost $22 in about an hour and a half. It was hilarious though and it's just a short walk compared to the whole game.

yeah sure bro.. everyone is on downswing and it has nothing to do with them playing ridiculously bad

The reason you never hear about sick upswings and ppl running above EV is because ppl never actively admit that they win sick amounts because they run above EV.
They never mention they won sick amounts because they had one setup in their favour after another..
Because when ppl who attend online poker forums win sick amounts its obviously because they are sick good and they crush souls and when they lose its because they run under EV ldo

Btw 22BIs below ev is sick and whoever goes through that has my sympathies. But ofc there are ppl running above ev like crazy.
I did myself several times. Overall lifetime im still a bit below ev but its pretty even.

@JQ I think it has more to do with the fact that probably no one can accurately describe how good they ran vs how they should have. EV affects only 5% of my hand.. i imagine it's lower/higher depending on what you play. But that does show how insignificant of a stat it really is. Running bad in those 5% EV hands is no reason to complain if you suck out every river before it gets all in.

You won't notice when you get more 2 pairs when you should or setups in you favor like you said. And when i won 10/11 hu matches the other day i didn't even feel like i ran much better then i should have simply because i got it in good almost everytime. Which doesn't mean i have epic soul reading skills. Just got the right cards at the right time and some nice setups in my favor

Just started thinking.. perhaps there should be a program with all the stats.. how often you should hit a pair on the flop, two pairs etc. How often you sucked out vs how much you should have had. How good your preflop cards were vs the average. etc. And then calculates how lucky you really were in a session.. But if fish get their hands on it then they might stop playing

But that wasnt really my point, im not advocating EV here was just responding to some very funny statements..
