Without any information on the opponent you can easily just go for value here. Any pocketpair is probably calling, overcards might float and flushdraws probably will aswell.

You could check and hope to induce something by the turn but given he is OOP he will at most try to bluff one street and if he has a hand of value he will call with it. We'd wanna get value out of smallish pocketpairs before board gets ugly and they'll c/f too.

you have to build pot somehow, so better do that with nuts
Also players might make some moves, so he might easily c/r flop with draws and sometimes his air
