Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is UTG with Q :diamond: A :diamond:
Hero raises to $3, 3 folds, SB calls $2.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($7.00) 6 :spade: 7 :club: 8 :diamond: (2 players)

River: ($15.80) 6 :diamond: (2 players)

Villan is 26/23/22.7, 1.8 aggr. factor, 50% WTS after 50 hands

His range: I thought it mostly consists of sth like 99, 9J, lower flushes since sets would donk turn most likely.

My perceived range should be quite weak.

Thoughts?

Imo these overbets are almost always absolute nuts. I also think ppl tend to call rather than shove on paired/fd completed boards with 2nd 3rd flush/straight/trips.

But I really still dunno what a default line vs a guy on who we have 50hands would be.

nh imo

don't think he would check both flop and turn with 2pair or set

I can see him check/calling the turn with a set. He doesnt want to get bluff raised, also after you check back that flop your range looks so much like air(overcards mostly) so he isnt rly getting value from many hands.
I like his line if he has a set actually. River is an ugly spot but I would probably bet/fold he is not doing this with str8/flushes imo, after all it he would be donking his FD on the turn a lot bc its a board you are checking back and giving up on very often.

You're so toasted on R. It makes perfect sense for him to chk a set on T since the T:d rly is a very bad card for a set. Also, I don't rly think villain can have ~any flushes in his range, since he'd donk out with all draws without sd-value on turn. Bet/fold R even vs. std raise. And btw, unless he's a complete moron he's never c/shoving R with J9 hoping you call with naked 9. Way too optimistic, imo.

But wouldn't he expect us to contibet 9x?

Agree with matusko and shevtshenko, he can definitely c/c a set on the turn because a bet will just have loads of foldequity and he never gets a better hand to fold.
On the river the c/sh almost always means that he is trying to maximize value vs straights.

Agree that we would cbet 9x oftentimes, but then again you can also argue for checking:
- you can still win the pot on the turn by either betting if he checks to you again or raising any of his turnbets (his range is not that strong so you have some oldequity additional to your potequity.
- the times you hit your straight your hand is very decepted so you can either let the opponent bluff or get some thin value.
