Hi all
I decided to start my blog :f_biggrin:
So I am 22 years old and I am from Latvia.
Have first level degree in computer sciences(don't know how it would be in english so translated word for word, its kinda one level lower than bachelor’s degree )

Two months ago I decided to try make career in poker.
Main reasons for this because I love this game and I can't imagine myself doing anything else. And because I live in Latvia, its kinda poor country, avarage salary here is 600$ per month. And I think I can make more money in poker than working avarage job.

About poker and me.
I am playing poker about a year. 1 year ago received ps 50$ free starting capital
Have tried different formats. Stared with full table and 6-max sng but didnt like it, think they are boring with few postflop game. Tried cash games, but unsuccesfully, finally tried HU SNG and I really like them.
Now seriously playing and studing game for 2 months.
Now I think I can beat low stakes Hu sng.

Currently playing 15s at stars.

Biggest archievment in poker was last summer I qualified for:

It is full tilt sponsored tv show. 30 players, 12 pro and 18 amateurs
Starting 6 tables qualification for 2 tables semifinal. From each semifinal table 3 get to final table. Managed to win semifinal and cashed for 3.5k $
In final busted on bubble :f_cry:
Key hand was early when lithuaninan pro had on flop mid pair and flushdraw but I had top set and it was all in and I lost it and was left with couple big blinds.

Will be updating couple times in a week, posting some hands and how I am doing.

Today played a bit cashgame.
Finnally had nice session it could be better but made big mistake which costed me 1 bi.
Had some very nice hands:
Two times get all in preflop with QQ and opp had AK, both flips winned.
After couple hands get preflop all in with AK and opp had QQ and on river caught A. And some hands later get all in with KK vs opponents QQ, winned too :f_biggrin:

Played some HU SnG.

Played against one nice opponent _biggrin:
Hi raises 100% on button and 3-bets 100% my Button raises.

Decided to try 10 $ games today.
Didnt went well down to 250$.

Suffered two bad beats in first two matches. In first sng floped bottom two pair, he has top pair, went all in and he caught his second pair.
In second one in first hand opponent goes all in and I had AA _cool:
He had QT and flop TTx, and I lost it.

I suppose I should stopped playing but continue and played against some agressive preflop 3-betors, made some 4-bet/shoves.
My AQ ran into AK, then A8s into QQ - down 4bi

And in last mach raised opp c-bet with my FD+2 overs, he shoved , I called and he hold up :f_cry:

Ofcourse I played only 5 sng but can say game is different from 5$.
Its more agressive preflop and I played 5 people and no one was calling station, at 5$ there would be at least 2

Back to 5$ games till reach 300$ and will give another shot, but this time with 2-3 bi stoploss and has to improve game against tight aggresive opponents.

Long time no update.

As we know full tilt is down and my whole br(250$) is there. All this time I was working on my game, watching videos and reading strategy articles and partying, love summer

It's not known when FT will be back so I deposited 50$ on Pokerstars to play NL2 sh.
First time playing there. Started 6 tabling and at the beggining it was to much tables so reduced to 4, but after 20 minutes started adding more tables as get used to software.
Played only 1 hour and 2 BI up.

One good reason to not slow play aces :f_biggrin:

Todays graph

And some stats

What do you think what should I do more or less?

Things aren't going well.
Bad beats, suckouts mixed with some bad play:

Hitting top two and they call with pocket pair with 3 overcards till river and on river hitting 2 outer or calling pot size bets with gutshot and hitting it ofcourse

was tilting one moment but fortunately noticed that after loosing only 2 buj ins

and in the end of the day - 6 BI
left 2 bujins for NL5 before moving back to NL2

Have to fix i think my biggest leak - I think I am calling too much when weaker hands just could not bet so strong.

For instance
PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (BTN): $4.91
SB: $5.02
BB: $3.49
UTG: $5.05

CO: $4.00

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05, CO posts DB $0.05

Pre Flop: ($0.12) Hero has 8♦ 8♥

fold, fold, CO checks, Hero raises to $0.20, SB calls $0.18, fold, fold

Flop: ($0.50, 2 players) 3♠ 2♦ 7♠
SB bets $0.36, Hero raises to $1.15, SB raises to $4.82 and is all-in, Hero calls $3.56 and is all-in

Turn: ($9.92, 2 players) 5♥

River: ($9.92, 2 players) 4♠

SB shows 7♥ 7♣ (Three of a Kind, Sevens) (PreFlop 19%, Flop 91%, Turn 95%)
Hero shows 8♦ 8♥ (One Pair, Eights) (PreFlop 81%, Flop 9%, Turn 5%)
SB wins $9.43

So what can I beat here, pretty much nothing :f_mad:
But when I analise hand after session I am thinking how da fck I made that call

Hey buddy,

Well I can't really help you much with cashgame because I am more of a fullring player, so I can tell you how would I play that hand if it was FR.

Basically, unless you have a read on SB or something, I wouldn't be that aggressive with only an overpair, and medium one. I mean, you know the saying small pots for small hands, big pots for big hands.

I wouldn't go broke with 88 on that flop. SB limps behind you, and starts acting very aggressively, that insta fires "SET" in my head lol... Doesn't need to mean necessarily, but if he's any good, why else would he limp behind you, other than holding a pocket pair(22-medium).

At most I'd re-raise him, and fold to a shove.

Other reason why I came in to post is because I plan in a long future to be playing HU, so I found reading about HU interesting.. :) Have you tried cashgame HU?

Best regards,
-eXtremeACE

hey
Wierd thing is when I review my hands I can see what I done wrong and how I should play but when I play I am making the same mistakes and after I lost big pot I review hand and again I clearly see what I did wrong but when similar situation appears again I making same mistakes. I though it was because I play too many tables (10 tables) so I reduced to 6 now but no change.

I dont have bankroll for HU cash as lowest limit is NL50 but I have played a once in NL2 about 5-10 minutes while we was only two at the table and if you have easy opponent than that is easy

Decided to focus on my main game type - HU sng.
Tried yesterday 7$ sng on stars. And first opponent was regular, dont know how good he is, but he was def very agressive, it is hard to play that type, but there is positive side - sng lasts much shorter than playing passive opponents but next games was vs easy opponents.
one hand

He was 3beting very light, so I called and was prepared to bluff this hand.
And after flop there was perfect spot to bluff, he was very agressive so dont see him checking here K and + I have OESD and backdoor FD
But on river he shoved first and after hand he told me it was bluff with AQ, unfortunately he bluffed first

ha ha, played some NL5 sh.
was 5 bi under all in ev, now I am 10 bi under all in ev

all started good, won QQ>AA pre all in, then flopped set vs opponents top two, was thinking fuck yea finally downswing is over.
yea right
lost deep 200 bb, AA<KK pre all in

later some fish was shoving all in every hand and I get dealt JJ was so happy :f_biggrin: , he had Q3o and Q on flop fml
couple hands later flop top set vs same fish, all in on flop, he had just top pair but runner straight and he wins. Some hands later vs same fish AK, make 6bb raise pre, he calls flop A93 I bet, turn - 8 I bet, river - 5 I bet, he calls and shows me 95o and rivered two pair. couple hands later again vs the same fish got AK and make even 10bb raise(was on tilt) he ofcourse called flop A42 I go all in on flop, not good play but as I sad was tilting , he called and shows me 42o ofcourse he held up dont know if I was very unlucky or he was very lucky

eh its no funny, now my br is 80 $ :f_cry:

Was thinking about brm and decided to play only 3.5$ sng till reach 145 $ and move to 7 $ sng. and play cash only when I have good br for 7$ hu sng.

Currently playing now 3.5$ Hu sng.
Current BR 125$ so need 15 $ and will be moving to 7$ sng.

3.5$

Today played my 100th 3.5$sng.

Have to say FTP 5$ games was softer. On stars here are much less superdonks who just are giving you free money, just calling your all ins with 3rd pairs or K high or some kind of running straits or flushes and then agreeing remach and donating you couple bujins.
Speaking about remaches on stars almost no one agrees remach if I remember right only 2 guys offered remach.
And other thing is so many russians are playing these.
