Today's session has not gone as well as I hoped, I have played 800 hands to be -$1.21 which is a bit demoralising to be honest

I watched 'How do elephant stats help you' and took some notes and feel that I have learnt a bit from that;

My stats are something I need to work on mayebe;
VPIP16.03 PFR11.81 & AF2.82. CC should be at 0 ish but it's at 6 so I need to identify where I am ccalling - I can only think of from SB or when I feel pot odds are good. With VPIP I am consciously goign to try and tighten up much more.

I also need to use the HUD more - I have it set to Poker Stars black theme where it gives you colours and words as opposed to number so this is something for me to look into tomorrow.

In other news I have been hitting the gym for the last few weeks but missed it today I am trying to ensure I keep that up and balance Poker with reading, exercise and getting out often. I live outside of the city in a residential area in the Spanish hills not far from Gibraltar so it's great for walks and runs etc.

As far as Poker aims go for the moment it is beating simply beating NL2 - it's a bit of a nightmare to play at tbh lol But am always trying to be positive and look forward on this point.

Today have not really played much at all - like 100 or so hands so no difference to BR. Went over yesterday's notes & hands, things are always more interesting in retrospect to analyse

Read Stats (1) - Basic articles and made some notes, now understand AF better and how to calculate calling range (simplezzz). Did not get the calculations in the Probabilities in Texas Holdem article so that's something for me to come back to - it's not essential atm but would like to understand this better.

In other news a stakee did well for me so that's £250 net after his share etc. which is always good

I am going to a book release tonight for a cousin of mine who's spent a lot of his life travelling and soul searching, very artistic type and he has taught me several good life lessons so it will be great to see him.

I also have a friend who made a surprise visit from Germany here, he's actually one of the ppl who got me into Poker and it's always fun to catch up with him.

So all in all life is good today and tomorrow is time to put some volume in and go through some articles

So I play this hand just to steal initially, but on the flop the villain check min raises me. If I'd have hit the flop I would bet or check and x3 raise, so I don't think he has set OR A. So guys sorry for not posting in a couple of days. So since the last post I have decided the best way out of NL2 would be using BSS. This week is going to be spent reading BSS articles and watching since it's a change of stylve obv.

Sunday my friend & I ended up in the Casino Playing the £50 Freezeout in the Casino. £1,350 in the prize pool with 27 runners. I was happy with my play up until the final table. I was picking the rights spots and basing the play depending on the villain.

There was a girl who's super aggro I 3bet her raise from CO, she calls. I checked a Jhigh dry flop she shoves I snap call with Ks and double up. I really liked how choose this line, obv. the Ks helped but cbetting she would have folded.

A fish who "gets bored of this, I prefer blackjack" opening shoving with 20bb left and showing QJss!? So I raiseds QTs from BU after he had open limped with just the intention of of getting him HU. I flopped a flush. check raised him and he shoved. Another stack down.

A made a marginal call before the final table where I had TKGK and some shortie made a shove that made NOOOO sense. So I called and it was complete bluff.

So I was chip leader on final table with 35k chips blinds 400/800 and 3 short stacks. My mistakes were playing a big too aggro at final table I think. I raised small pockets pairs to try and steal pot but faced a shove twice. Then on the third occasion I called the shove with 44 and villain showed aJ and hits A on river. Coin flip though I could have let it go with 44 I guess.

55 from BU 2,400 raise, BB calls EP (open limps) calls - flop J5T - cbet 4,200 BB calls EP folds. The BB was part of a group of Spanish couples that come down often to play at the local Casino. She's the easiest to read of them, keeps a tight range and only plays when she has something. Turn comes down K, I check she snap shoves I muck. She turns her husband and mouths "Ace Dama" - Thanks love the shove was clear enough ♦

We were down to 6 - first four paid out. Down to like 17k and the blinds were starting to hurt. I shoved 66 got called by AA, nothing to do about it.
With 2 o3 bbs left I busted out in 5th place - Bubleeeeeeeeeeeee boyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Bah the only thing that' annoying obv. is being within reach of the money. But I'll take some lessons form the tourney and apply them for Wed night Freezeout.

So sorry about the lack of updates, it's been a busy bizarre few days lol

There has been wild fires around my residential area and the whole place got evacuated . . . they were loud speakers and sirens, police ordering people out of their homes at about 02:30 etc.

Only my gf & I slept through the whole thing! I woke up and noticed the smell of smoke but since fires at the beach or hills are anything out of the ordinary I went back to bed :/

I'll post some pics of the planes and helicopters fighting the blaze, it was pretty sick watching them at work - they were relentless and put up a good fight.

I've been playing on Ladbrokes today and it's gone quite well. I had an unwanted start when Qs were busted by Ks, but since I am like £7 up over two tables.

I've also been playing less volume since it had not gone well. I have like $6 left on my stars account and I busted the roll. I'll post the last few hands.

Losing $6 is not the biggest downer on earth - but it was my stars roll and it really upset me tbh - I am not sure I want to deposit again. I am going to play on Ladbrokes and an iPoker site for the moment and see how it goes.

In other news staking brought another £200 in I ma thinking of putting some money into Sports betting staking. Nothing major but something to test the water with.

So I was searching for 6max BSS videos and what do I find but one available for Bronze members by TwiceT! Pretty sick how he puts players on ranges etc. I have been trying iso betting weak players and it seems to be working well - I'd post a hand but sigh,micro gaming etc.

Still have to read odds & outs articles again, went over some notes. Rread an interesting point by Newman about betting cards with no show down value - if your hand is so shit that it prob won't win show down, you can get more by bluffing it and getting a marginal but better hand to fold. Obv circumstances allowing

Read a sick blog called 'Grain of sand' by a new Polish coach and of course Pleno1's blog is pretty cool. I'd defo recommend it if you have'nt checked it out yet. Kinda puts things into perspective when other strategists are in Vegas etc. But step by step ♦

Really not sure about my call here, I've played against this guy a few hands and this is an ideal spot for him. I was not too worried by the monotone board, perhaps I should have been. Thing is, these hands are a bit hard to analyse - if he'd not hit flush then I may have viewed the call differently.

Because of his reraise I was thinking AK+, JJ+ based on this I have 61% equity against 24% and 15% random other villain (who folds almost every cbet on flop). Any thoughts on the call?

This hand it's possible villain had hit something, but in 6max I thought he
could just be trying to steal the pot with any high/mid pair. 77+, suited A that pairs with board (A7s A4s) so I reraise to find out. I was thinking of calling, and then then seeing his play on turn to extract more value, but with over pair I think it's fine to reraise here. Slowing play I can leave for but flush or FH~! ♦

These anon games are pretty cool - the guy that shoves - he was spewing so much (I was happy to see there are still some players worse than me! ♦ ) So by this point he was on tilt and shoving with anything. I called the shove but think I should have gone AI myself to avoid others calling. When the J came on the river I am pretty sure I am ahead. And if the fish actually had As or Ks then that would have really sucked!

I have been reading various blogs entries and a friend sent me an interesting one, this is a section from it;

The worst part for the egomaniac is that his arrogance is too much to overcome and for a poker player this leads him to bust or near bust. I think it's a valid point, many of the players I know or I see at live games walk around like the sun shines out of their arse - some of them are not even good players! My first impressions were that this attitude may be part of being a good player. But since have met many good players who are humble and modest. It led me to believe that just because you don't act like a dick (ego driven), does not necessarily mean you're a donk. For me this message hit hard, believing that I should win all my sessions because I like Poker and think that I am a good player etc. Winning always ushers this process and confidence is a also needed, but for me having been losing the last few months, this article was enlightening
