I know I am spewing money in this type of situation all the time:

All players are relatively unknown (about 60 hands on each)

Stats as follows
VPIP/PFR/3-Bet
SB
BB 33 30 19.2
UTG 17 14 8.7

UTG was PFR 8 out of 60 times from UTG

Should I have folded or 3-bet pre?

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BB$10.60:///////;MP2$11.35:///////;MP3$10.15:///////;CO (Hero)$10.37:///////;BU$3.27:///////;SB$12.45:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8:c, 8:d.
MP2 raises to $0.30, MP3 folds, Hero calls $0.30, 3 folds, 2 folds, BB folds.

Flop: ($0.75) 2:d, J:d, 4:c (2 players)
MP2 bets $0.50, Hero folds, MP2 gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $0.75.

Hello gormless,

Huh? Why are you spewing? You did a perfect play. By that I mean you called with the implied odds for set value. Didn't hit and made an easy & safe play and folded. Very nice hand! If we knew the opponent then we might even consider sometimes to continue on flop but that's more advanced play and wouldn't recommend for very beginning if your postflop play ain't the best.

Best regards.
