Hi Guys,
So analyzing this hand I figured out that I have no idea what a typical balanced range for continuing looks like in that spot. I'm not talking about GTO or anything, just some kind of semibalanced range here that won't make my opponent's life too easy.
So I can see 2 ways here:
- not raising with anything (kind of Newall style I guess) - that makes our life much easier in the calculations, however I'm not sure it's the best way to play the hand, and if I don't want to be hyper-balanced in that spot, just want to get a not superexploitable strategy here, then I feel it's not optimal.
- the option I prefer in this spot is fastplaying every trips or better, and every pocket (maybe some premuim 2x-es?), and fastplaying some backdoor-monsters, namely 3 to a gutshot straightflush (so JTs, T9s, J9s, etc. down to 43s with matching suits ofc). I guess my range will still be a bit too bluffy, so might need to raise some A2, etc. (However I really want to keep some 2x in my range so - as Boomer would say - he wouldn't snapvbet Ax on the river comfortably.)
I prefer the second one, but I'd really like to know which one do you prefer?
Also, what is the real bottom of our calling range here? Would we call 54o (can still raise some turns if we hit a pair or a straightdraw) or rather Q4o in that spot? To make it easier: what hands do we fold on these boards? (Because I feel there should be some, but if someone says nothing I can't argue with him.)
Sorry for the long post and the difficult hand, and I'm really thankful for the answers in advance too.:)
Cheers,
Madi
