0.50/1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Texas Grabem 1.9 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q♣, A♥
2 folds, CO calls $1.00, BU calls $1.00, Hero raises to $6.00, BB folds, CO calls $5.00, BU calls $5.00.

Flop: ($19.00) 5♠, 3♠, Q♦ (3 players)
Hero bets $15, CO folds, BU calls $15.00.

Turn: ($49.00) 8♥ (2 players)
Hero bets $35, BU calls $35.00.

River: ($119.00) 8♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $42 (All-In), BU calls $42.00.

Final Pot: $203.00

No stats on players, and stacks are 100$.

Is my line OK here or would it be better to play for a smaller pot and disregard protection?

Since there are a lot of draws possible, i like your turnbet. You can´t fold on the river, so a push is fine because of negative freeroll.

good answer.

for others: negative freeroll is where worse hands (that would call a push) are checking behind on the river, and better hands (that you call a push from anyway) are shoving behind on the river.

although of course, some worse hands (missed flushdraw) are possibly betting behind on the river
