The BU is a limpy sort of non-passive player on 40/9, BB is a 22/18 TAG after 50 hands and MP is totally unknown. UTG plays 80% of his hands.
I thought preflop was close between a raise and an overlimp but given that this would be 4-way and even 5-way reasonably often I went for the lower variance play, maybe I sacrificed some EV just limping here..
Anyway my thought process started out like this:
If I raise MPs donk I can kick out hands with equity against me-> if I raise him I isolate myself against the strongest parts of his range as a slight favourite or a moderate dog -> My made hand component isn't that strong so maybe I should pretend I just have the NFD here and get it in on a turn that improves me.
When the raise wars starts and it comes back to me I think "well yeah, I've got 10 outs to the nuts and some backdoor straight potential, if guy behind me goes with it as well the pot is going to be huge."
I feel once everyone is going with it I probably can't fold but what about my first flop decision?
