This is one of the tough spots I get into at my limits. Villain is a tight reg with a 3 bet of 2.9% over 1.2k hands. Can you please explain how you would play this hand?

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.15/$0.25 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BB$39.45:///////;MP2$24.60:///////;MP3 (Hero)$26.16:///////;CO$19.83:///////;BU$35.35:///////;SB$34.55:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J:s, J:c.
MP2 folds, Hero raises to $0.90, 2 folds, SB raises to $2.95, BB folds, Hero calls $2.05.

Flop: ($6.15) 5:c, 8:s, 5:h (2 players)
SB bets $2.75, Hero raises to $10.00, SB calls $7.25.

Turn: ($26.15) 7:s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $13.21(All-In), SB raises to $21.60.

River: ($60.96) 2:h (2 players)

Final Pot: $60.96.
Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, jacks and fives(J:s J:c).
SB shows two pairs, aces and fives(A:h A:c).

SB wins with two pairs, aces and fives(A:h A:c).

Hi,

I think your flop raise is too big.
I would likely not raise flop with JJ that spot, but rather call and then consider folding on the turn against big bet.
If you want to go with your hand, then raise smaller to 6$, since that looks more bluffy and he may shove over your raise hands like AQ/AK

best regards,
