ICM explorer says that if he's on a 25% range (which I think is reasonable given the other big stack might do something stupid) it's a (close) fold.
Oh yeah and the UTG+1 is a good reg on the limit.

i don't think that a good reg will do this light. mid PP's, AK AQ maybe AJ is my range to him.
i fold because even though we are short we are on the btn and we sill have a few hands to shove. i might call if i'm the utg+1 (and utg shoves)

ok if he's range is so strong why would we want to get involved with A4 in UTG+1? vs the range you've given we're crushed, and from what I remember we need at least 45% Equity.
because blinds will hit us in 2 hands. he either shove next hand or go all-in on our blind with any2 cards.
i might fold and shove next hand utg, but with an A i might (sometimes i fold) take this spot and call with 2bb's

this might sounds strange, but i think that if you're with 2.5bb's UTG+1 you're in such a bad spot that calling or folding this spot are both acceptable.
Which isn't true when you're on the button, because you still have a lot of hands to make a move.

fine I agree. But with the UTG+1 situ, I think it's better to fold and have two more hands dealt than get into a 27% equity spot (by calling with A4o against what you claimed was a strong range).

there are a few things that you also should keep in mind, his shove will probably avoid going all-in against more than 1 opponent, if you shove next hand you might go against 2-3 opponents. And going against 2-3 isn't bad if you have a hand like 86s, T9o, etc, but if you're dealt Q6o for example you'll have to shove utg (actually MR to 800 as i said on the other thread :P)and you might go against multiple opponents.
but yeah, i don't dislike folding utg+1 and shoving next hand. i just think it's a much better call utg+1 than on the button, agree?

I don't take the UTG+1 spot either with A4o, but I know I'm personally tighter than most in those situations.
