C/c on the river not willing to pay more

I sometimes meet argumentation of playing c/c instead of b/c because you don't want to pay more for SD. But is it a good reasoning? I mean there's reasoning we're playing b/f when we want to gather value from hands which will otherwise cb (negative freeroll) or playing c/c as bluff inducing action. And that's for one BB.

And in this article

we meet argumentation of playing b/c vs unknown because the probability of bluff needs to be very low to make this action justified. If you have example where playing c/c with the reasoning "not to pay more" is the best please share it.
