My though process behind this was he limped in and then over bets the pot massively as good chance he has air, but it turns out he was protecting his A in hindsight this seems obvious? Should i have folded here? I have this issue when i'm down to 18 or final table i find it hard to let go of chips because i want to win it so badly :f_cry:

Myself I might take the line of just shoving him pre-flop and put him to a decision, with a M of 8 we really don't have the luxury of playing post-flop
Of course with a big stack and unknown you could argue this line as well

I just see so many Ax limps in low buy ins from EP cause these players love any A, that when it comes on the flop regardless of the bet( well of course if there overly aggressive then you have a case to shove on the flop) im usually always giving them credit more often that not, in my experience, were up against Ax

btw what 180 man is $1? Stars hyper turbos?

This is a shove pre for me. At these blind levels and your stack size, my advice is never and I mean NEVER limp, or 3 bet, its a straight fold or shove.
Villain may still call you but he may be reluctant to call off half his stack with AT.
