Yes, you have to go broke. You need at least 22% equity to call his raise on flop, and you have 35% against the straight. He might also have a draw or 2 pair type of hand.

The only mistake I can see is that I think your flop bet is a little off. Either bet half pot to keep in both people with poor equity and people who think they can bluff you on the flop or go ahead and jam full pot if you want to try and take it down now.

When you see this flop with the amount of money you have left, your attitude should be that all your money will be going in to the middle of the pot, the only question you should be asking yourself is "what should I be betting to get money off worse hands?"
