SH QQ on AKQ84(no flush), easy 3-bet river HU?

we're losing to just JT when he's decided to slowplay it. If we expect a raise before the river half the time then he has 8 combinations of JT.

A4, K4 give us 18 more combos which we beat. That gives us more than 2:1 so we can 3-bet for value even if he caps perfectly against us and we never fold.

Its likely that there are several other hands he may play this way which we beat, but as you point out he probably doesn't have a higher set.

I do fully agree with datsmanahmes analysis und i would rather assume that he's just calling the turn with a hand like Q8 or K8 to wait for a blank rivercard. He may have raised these hands as well but people playing lowstakes are more aware of the fact that this is an action board and is supposed to be fastplayed with a hand like JT but due to the fact that players use to be passive there, he might have been scared that the River brings another A or T or J etc and he wanted to wait for a blank. However. We should discount at least a few combos off of JT and determine K4 & A4 as 100% likely. So you missed a value3bet.

yeah theres an interesting parlay that occurs when we assume our opponent can slowplay.

In spots like this one where we start to include straights in his range we do also need to include other slowplays, some of which are weaker. If we think he's really slowplay happy then we probably don't converge his range of 2pair+ at all.

... and sometimes these guys do this with stranger hands like pocket jacks.... which is rare, but interesting.
