I'm a bit stumped on this one. Part of me says I shouldn't have even played this hand once I saw the flush draw, another part says I played it fine and kind of just got unlucky but I'm a bit too new and hate putting this down to "luck".
I know he didn't have the flush on the nuts because he check/called rather than bet or reraise and figured he was either looking to make a top pair with K, A or flush straight. I was ready to back away if the K or A came out or a 4th spade on the turn. When the turn came and he didn't land the flush or top pair I figured I could take the hand and he would back down.
Is my thought process wrong here?
Did the pot just have too much invested that ppl would play long odds like he did?
Should I have just folded the second I saw the flop?
Thanks for any tips you can give me, this hand is kind of bugging me.
