Holding the A♠ on the flop means you're going to pick this pot up a lot right away, however once you get called you have to give opponent some respect and most of the time you need to slow down on the turn.

With the ace of spades and the nut flush draw in diamonds on the turn I certainly like check/calling. You're going to be able to stab at half the deck on the river, half as a value bet and half as a bluff. You get to represent a flush should spades hit on the river (bet flop, check/call turn line says flush draw) and if diamonds hit you could well get paid off as people are less likely to believe a backdoor draw.

Over all I think you played it fine, I don't see any reason to call a river bet from villain, it's a pretty bad board and you're not good really at all. :f_biggrin:
