PokerStars - $0.10 NL ZOOM - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $10.00
SB: $18.99
BB: $11.08
UTG: $4.80
UTG+1: $10.51
Hero (UTG+2): $14.56
MP: $9.44
MP+1: $8.76
CO: $27.55

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has 8♠ 8♦

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.40, Hero calls $0.40, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold

Call for set mining.

Flop: ($0.95, 2 players) 3♣ 5♦ 2♥
UTG+1 bets $0.60, Hero raises to $1.50, UTG+1 calls $0.90

He is 20/16 with 100% cbet and 20% wtsd over 110 hands. I am sort of confused here. Do I call to keep his range wide or 3bet him to protect vs over cards?

Turn: ($3.95, 2 players) 7♥
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $2.20, fold

Here, I am protecting vs over cards for sure.

Spoiler

Hero wins $3.77

I am often confused about these type of hands to go for protection or let him bluff. Problem is, turn brings an over card most times and I have to fold to turn barrel! =(

Hello FlashDavin,

Nor it doesn't tell us much about his turn CB with your only 1 CB stat. Nor we can't 3bet on the flop cause we are just raising. Nor the raise size ain't very good, at least 3x.

It's kinda obvious that you wont get called from a lot worse on the flop and most likely wont force him to fold either. So you are turning your hand into bluff and meanwhile the guy may think the same and maybe even shove with his overcards/GS or whatsoever draw. Therefore I'd rather just Call and reevaluate the turn.

Raising is an option but then we must also understand what's behind the raising and what's the idea of it and not just raise cause we don't know what to do vs his line on turn.

Best Regards.
