Hello, everybody.
I would like to post a live tourney hand for discussion. If this is not the right place to do it, please move the thread to the proper section.

NL HE 57EUR freezeout Tourney
Starting chips 20.000
Level 2: 75/150
My stack 16500, I sit in the CO, holding AA.
Villain sits to my right, holding about 17-18k.

Fold to Villain, he limps, I raise 550, all fold, he calls.
I have no read on him, as he had sat at the table about 10 hands earlier.
Pot is 1325.
Flop comes QT5r.
Villain donks 1.000, I raise 3.000, donk calls

Pot is 7325.
Turn comes 3 (complete rainbow).
Villain checks, I bet 5000, Villain calls.

Pot is 17325.
River comes Q.
Villain hesitates for 5-10 seconds, then checks.
I think for about 10 seconds, then check and show AA.

How would you have played it?
Thanx

Hi staicu,

since your tournament had a Buyin of 57€ I will move your hand to the hand evaluation forum for tournaments >11$ Buyin.

Hi,

I think checking back is the best play. He would not call with missed draws, he would always call with Qx, he would shove with boats and it is hard him to call Tx if you shove.
So likely you´re getting only called if you´re behind.

Since pot is 17k I can´t really see you betting smt like 3k and folding to 8k all-in.

Looks to me like villain has something like KJ, maybe AT.

I think he shoves any Q so its unlikely he will call any river bet unless he puts you on air or low pair and he is holding T - you never can tell live, people just seem to call off much lighter.

Of course he could be trap checking but not likely imo with stack sizes left.

Think I would check behind and see his holding for future reference,

Hi all,

I go for the nitty line and check behind as well. Note his hand and use that to determine whether you can go for a valueshove in future spots given the physical/timing tells that he gave off (the 5-10 hesitation before checking on the river).
