Pre Flop: ($0.05) Hero has A♥ 7♦

fold, fold, MP checks, fold, fold, SB raises to $0.04, Hero raises to $0.06, fold, SB calls $0.02

Flop: ($0.14, 2 players) A♣ 6♦ T♣
SB checks, Hero bets $0.02, SB raises to $0.04, Hero raises to $0.06, SB calls $0.02

Turn: ($0.26, 2 players) 5♠
SB checks, Hero bets $0.04, SB calls $0.04

River: ($0.34, 2 players) T♦
SB checks, Hero checks

I guess I did everything 'by the book', though I'm not sure I should have checked the river.

Comments, suggestions?

I would just call Preflop. It's not a mistake to 3bet as MP has posted and SB could isolate him with a wide range but your edge is not that big preflop and given you just call and you don't have the initiative you can wait for the flop and let SB make his contibet and on favourable flops you can raise him, push off MP and protect very well. As played you should just call down to SB's checkraise.

Your kicker is just too weak to give more action and if he's got a draw like QJ KJ KQ J9 :club: or a flushdraw, he'll certainly barrel through anyway and by 3betting you take the risk of losing more money against better hands like A8 A9 AT A6 66 etc and you lose 0,5BB against draws when you bet the turn and he gives up on the river. Be aware of the fact that you're just ahead against A3 A4 A5 etc but behind against many better Ax combos. A hand like KJ KQ QJ is rarely semibluffed on the flop and those hands just have 4 Outs against you.

So your plan is to just call it down. :)
