Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has 4♥ 4♣

fold, fold, MP raises to $0.04, fold, CO calls $0.04, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.02

Flop: ($0.13, 3 players) 4♦ 7♣ K♠
Hero bets $0.02, MP raises to $0.04, fold, Hero raises to $0.06, MP raises to $0.08, Hero calls $0.02

Turn: ($0.29, 2 players) A♣
Hero bets $0.04, MP raises to $0.08, Hero calls $0.04

River: ($0.45, 2 players) 7♥
Hero bets $0.04, MP raises to $0.08, Hero calls $0.04

On flop I capped figuring the only hand that could beat me was KK.

On turn I bet for value and information. After the raise I remember thinking "damn, if this guy has AK, I'll squeeze his soul out... then again, he could have AA, AK or KK"; so I took the somewhat middle path and called the turn then b/c the river.

I think I might have played too passively but not sure...

Ideas?

It's ok to donk the turn. The Ace might scare KJ KQ KT etc and maybe he takes a freecard or he intended to make a cheap showdown play with a medium pocketpair that, since your donk on the turn is kind of strange, he's gonna call down with maybe and with a checkraise you represent a very strong hand. You could be beaten against 77 KK AA but AK are 12 combinations and maybe he did this play with A7 or he's raising again with KQ or something like that. So you played it a little too passive. You don't have a read on your opponent so he could have a lot. The question is when you considered yourself to be behind, what does 7x change? It's just a check/call then. Donk/Call does make no sense. Either you are ahead and you do play donk/3bet or you're behind and you do take the line c/c.

But as already said, 3bet the Turn and if capped, just check/call the River.
