Hey,

Vills:
BTN: 42/19/137h. Postflop bit tighter.
SB: 43/7 small sample.
BB: 23/17/159h 50foldtocbet

3 questions:

1) Should I raise the minbet?
2.1) Should I cbet when there is no minbet?
2.2) If I cbet and someone calls (HU), should I 2nd barrel?
3) Should we call the flopraise as played?

my thoughts

1 ye
2.1 ye, as a general rule, always cbet with a gssd
2.2 only on a 7, 6, 3, 2 or diamond
3 sure why not. it's not expensive and you got decent equity

Hello Farmarchist,

1) Should I raise the minbet?

I'd most likely vs such a min-bet which I usually treat as a Check Raise it up.

2.1) Should I cbet when there is no minbet?

Yes, we would be still CBetting, could easily be that we are even ahead.

2.2) If I cbet and someone calls (HU), should I 2nd barrel?

Depends against whom we are, depends what kind of card and so on. For example vs BTN I might even ship da money.

3) Should we call the flopraise as played?

Rather fold it, we wont have very good equity here overall and too many cards which we can't continue on the turn.

Best Regards.

we're getting .75/6.25 = 1/12 immediate pot odds to draw to our gutshot to the ~nuts... and we don't even count the two 7s as outs.. , of course we should discount the 6:s, but together with some small implied odds I don't think we can fold for .75 and try to spike 6:c on the turn...

:P I bet Farma 1$ on what you would say about this spot as played, so please reconsider given my arguments ;).

BTW, totally agree on raise the minbet... but as played we're getting good odds on our gutshot imo. and might still have the best hand when it gets checked through, and just get out if we don't spike a 6 or 7 on the turn...

The problem is that you never going to know what is clean for you. As we might have at the best just 3 clean outs = $5,75 would be needed for our GS. But while it could even improve some stronger straight we could be easily having reversed implied odds.

well we have 2 blockers against the 97 so it's not very likely... but we have to fade spades or the board pairing on the river....
meh I just like to draw to gutshots I guess ;) I shipped Farma the 1$

Well, your thoughts were correct but at least for me it is when I take passive play then I also follow it. By passive I mean (way ahead/behind. There ain't just going to be any cards which help us and we must understand that it's going to be 4card straight so nobody really will pay.
