In both hands I saw that I was pretty beat and if I had made those calls the pot would have gone too big for overpair. Those hadns screamed of set.

My thoughts are, who donks a set on the flop against the preflop aggressor?

In both hands, raise more I think. Raise to $3 in the first hand. I see people playing flush draws this way, also 2 pair, or OESD, which I think is more likely here than a set. The fact that he wants to build the flop pot with minraises seems to indicate a made hand, so maybe 8T is possible. In that case, fold after the flop reraise.

Raise to $4 in hand two, but the flush gets there on the turn, and I think I would believe that.

Raise more.
hand 1 call down
hand 2 fold is fine.
