You got top pair. flush draw didn't hit and he raises. he could just be doing this with Ax just like you have. I would guess that he could do this with A8+ Its totally standard to just call down here. what are you afraid of really ? he is checking the flop most would bet their good ace. He could easily be doing this with a pp between an ace and 6. You still have all the 77 - KK which you beat.

and just because the king comes. we could think that he is trying to make a fancy play syndrom by checking his top pair on the flop after 3b preflop. and raise turn with Ax.

Which you have a good shot of winning. Theres always the chance that he got two pair or is an idiot with AK (which just should make you note that he 3b with AK and checks his top pair.. now you in this hand note that he 3b preflop with kings and is getting so scared of the ace that he plans to check call down. tough luck he turned set of kings.

again you should not include the result in your hand posting :)

Hi!

Fact that he 3bet preflop in bb makes his range much stronger on average. Sure it can be just a spew or something but I thinks its reasonable to think his range is very often very strong.

So flop comes and if he bets its a super standard wawb calldown. You either beat his pocket or bluffs or you are dominated by a better kicker.

When he checks flop he most often is doing this with a hand that gets afraid of an Ace...therefore pocketpairs most often. This action is obviously not good as its super easy to exploit. So just bet all the way is the best play. Thing to mention is that his checks can sometimes be a chance to trap.Since board is dry and most players know its good to cbet on it with whatever you have they can decide to check their strong hands(like AA,AK,AQ,66) with intention of raising at some point. If you have a read that they like to trap often it gets better to check behind and if they bet turn go into calldown mode again. If they check again you should then bet....however,such play deserves a read and vs unknown I would never assume anything like that

When you get raised on the turn its really ugly. You beat very very little if anything out of his value c/r range....meaning that the things he is doing it for value with(Ax+) have you beat badly. You may hope for a lower kicker but these will almost never take that line. Most likely hands are either slowplays from the flop or KK which fits his story perfectly. Still...without any reads I cant fold this,he may just be stupid or is steaming or doing this with A8 and you may even have some splitting outs so calldown is fine. With a read like that he is not bluffing I can easily fold this on the turn since his line is suuuuper strong.
