CO is a regular who I know but not sure he knows me. So far I've played quite passively vs him OOP. My cbet percentage on the hands he has on me is probably a lot <50%. I am quite nitty UTG, about 12% UO PFR.

Villain doesn't 3bet vs UTG, 21% WTSD over 280 hands, 8% cold call in CO. What do you think Hero reps, and what would your range be here in CO's spot?

MP: $222.83 (222.8 bb)
CO: $101.88 (101.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with X X
Hero raises to $3, MP folds, CO calls $3, 3 folds

Hero bets $25, CO calls $25

River: ($93.50) A (2 players)
Hero bets $74.18 and is all-in, CO calls $55.88 and is all-in

Your range is some sets/some AK sometimes QJ and hands like AQ/AJ/FDs.

My calling range on the river as CO would be any FH, KQ (since it blocks so many of your value combos) and QJ. Entirely depends on opponents though, there are some that literally never bluff here and vs those I would only call a FH. You seem to be somewhat creative though since you decided to check/raise as the PFR in UTG so that's why I call the above range.

I got called by QQ here which got me thinking: Does it block enough of my value combos to call in villain's shoes? He doesn't beat AJ, AQ or a NFD I might be barreling off with (doesn't feel great to do that but if I'm not known, I might just be spewing it in) so does QQ seem a bit too thin of a call? He beats non nut flushes which are 89 of hearts specifically, else everything got there I think.

No I don't think his call is good, don't think it blocks enough value combos. The problem is that you could even be check/raising some AJ/AQ kind of hands that now have you beat. Also like you mention there are so few hands that you can legitimately have that he beats, so not a big fan. Oh well, I presume you were bluffing so nice call I guess :)

Nono, I had a FH. I'm always intrigued when I see people snap calling bluffcatchers so always look to get input on that from others. Makes me rethink my range in that spot if the call was actually good. :)

From villains eyes I would think about this hand in a more simplistic way. You have a 12% open range, why would I level myself to call down vs a weird line from a really tight range?

Question, is his bet vs missed flop standard? I would feel tempted to cbk back.

Yea agree with double. If u had not been getting out of line i am not calling down for surem turn is a terrible card to bluff. I dont giv most players credit for checkrasing ak here it seems thin given positions.

So while it may seem like a good card to call again i think people just shtdown a lot.

Or maybe u have creative spewy image?

why c/r flop? seems very bad/unbalanced? Surely we are never c/r bluffing here? Flop just seems like a v standard bet if you have a set?

It's not meant to be balanced. I know villain, I read a lot of his thought processes in hands and thought he likes calling. Fortunately I was right but was wondering maybe if his call down actually makes sense.

If it makes a difference a few hands before I 3bet/5bet 88 BvB and we got it in. More likely he thinks I'm rather spewy imo, although have a tight image preflop image.

Hey guys - nice input. I'm the villain in the hand! _evil: I just found out about this post ;)

1)I was tilted that day. the 3b/5b 88 bvb had the impact also. Btw I didn't know villain at that moment.
2)I rly do like calling and bluff cathing - that is a leak - i know. Can't stop myself.
3)I don't rly understand that ch/r as pfr line and i usually like calling for info even if it's for stacks - which is bad.
I like the range u've given for calling FH,KQ,QJ although b/c KQ there is spewy on flop. so I'm left only with fullhouses and QJ probly.

Good read me then. :)

Since CO in this spot is sort of 'forced' to only call QJ if he double floats it or FH, does it make it a good bluff spot vs standard regs? I don't consider x3mwisp standard since I did think he was more likely to call light than the average regular in this funky spot.

I don't think people will fold Kx very often to be honest and imo your default strategy should be to cbet strong hands on this flop unless villain bets a lot vs missed cbet. It's a good flop to fire multiple barrels.
