Hey!

Do you only open hands which you can call vs SB's possible shove?

What about this exact spot?

ante 60

Hey!

I don't mind folding here against unknown!
You need 37% for be and you want like 40% in this spot for sure, or even 41 or 42%

de.pokerstrategy.com
Equity Win Tie
MP2 38.46% 37.51% 0.95% { Q3s }
MP3 61.54% 60.59% 0.95% { 22+, A2s+, K5s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, 87s, 76s, 65s, A2o+, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o }

if you give him a loser range... calling is ok! But I would just r/f here!

Sb is not always shoving in this spot... And if he does you can still fold and keep your stack!

Why do we need 41%? I always call when I have like 0.01% more than needed :P

Well because you can get much more profitable spots than that, its breakeven and we don't want to be a breakeven player and if you lose this hand you lose a stack where you can still steal/resteal!

tyty learned something important!

Should we then even openraise if we don't call e shove?

Some math: We risk 1K to win 1290 so it needs to work only ~44% so if they both resteal an average (100-44)/2 = 28% then we should not minraise/fold anymore.

Why do you give villain such a huge shovingrange? Why would someone resteal 65s or T9o, J9o? Isn't this more realistic: 22+,A2s+,K9s+,QTs+,J9s+,T9s,98s,A2o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo

That is a 30% range so BB needs to fold something like 70% to make or steal profitably... With deeper stack I think that's possible so I still like the minraise but it's close I guess.

But does or hand even matter then? Just minraise/fold any two? Sure if they adjust (esspecially BB) then we should minraise tighter but I doubt that he'll adjust within a few orbits.

Thoughts!

You can raise/decide like you did!
I would def. minr/f if sb is tight enough!

and on lowlimits they are so often to tight in those spots that I'm always raising here!
Against a shove i'm almost folding most of the time unless i've reads that player shoves light in tihs spot!
as you said yourself... you're not getting 2:1 odds! So you don't need to call!

And the hand matters a little... because bb also can resteal or flat in this spot quite lose! So we want something with a little playabilty!
