I was wandering if I play this hand too passive, J9s is a hand I like to see a flop with in position, but not paying too much, so if I raise he might spas and shove so I won't even see a flop.

OTF i just call, is this too passive, should i be raising the flop when I get an OESD, or just call down?

I fold pre.

I think the passive line is actually correct here once you have started, you are not in good shape until the river and as such any chips you put in more than a call could be a spew if the guy has AQ, AT, pp etc as he can just shove and we have to give up.

I would also doubt the reraise on the river as I feel it is a classic case of what are we going to achieve? Player notes will help here, but for me a call is the best play once we get this far.

Rubbish like 66, KJ, missed flush draws etc will fold but we will get called/shoved on by QQ, TT, 88 which given the line is not likely, but I just don't see many calls here.

Good Luck _cool:

Dont remember his stats, but he was def. a weaker player, just that Line is a good example.

I really feel it giving up value on the river of we check, would he really limp and min bet 3 streets with 88, TT or QQ? I doubt it. I think we are getting called by a lot of T's and weak Q's

Hey!

If villain would have like 2k stack I would've limped or isoraised... Depends on the table!
In this case I fold because you don't get much implieds!

As played I raise the river much bigger like to 250! And I never fold river if villain shoves here? Have looked at his stacksize? I'm not folding against another bigstack here either! Easy b/c

get it in on flop even vs overpairs , top pair, 2 pairs , you have decent odds to hit your str8.

Please don't ever think of getting it in on the flop... Your getting perfect odds and by raising you're just isolating youreslf against stronger ranges!
Easy call flop
