Hey guys,
I've written this post twice already and both times erased it because didn't like my wording so here goes my third try.
I'll try to be short and informative as I guess nobody likes long tales on how I've slaina dragon and saved princess.
Who am I?
My name is Almantas, I'm 24 years old guy from Lithuania. For those who are in mood for longer reads, there was an interview some time ago done w me here on PS.com. Diamond interview series: NightFrostaSS
Short poker bio.
Played all kinds of NL cash and some PLO HU cash too back in a day. FRNL100, 6max grinded 100 and bumhunted 200, HUNL reghunted 100 and 200.
Shortly after black friday I quit poker (nothing to do with BF). And last year returned back to playing. For last year mained 6max zoom up to 100NL.
Last month switched sites and started grinding anonymous tables and love it. Since I deposited only few hundred euros I started out at 50NL, but ended month at 100NL and now have a comfortable roll on this site for it.
I play 4-8 tables depending on how well I'm playing and how great the games are.
Goals and aspirations for poker?
Well I'd like to buy myself an apartment and upgrade into newer car in the upcoming two years or so. So being a winning 200NL player is a minimum I'd need to achieve in poker. 400NL would be great but think there's a lot of mental barriers in addition to technical side that would make this very hard task to accomplish.
What do I struggle with?
Technically every area could use improvement. Think currently I have hardest time dealing with wide BTN minraisers. Second thing is I cap my ranges a tad much I think and then put myself into spots where I get to choose between folding and bluffcatching with face up ranges.
And I struggle at picking spots when to bluff or not with busted draws OTR when villain checks to me as previous street aggressor.
Mentally. I tend to overthink things and outplay myself when playing different stakes or different games than I'm used to.
I don't A game much either and mostly autopilot.
Not much tilt problems. I do burn out quite fast sometimes it takes a week sometimes two but I do end up having to take a day or two off because otherwise I start spewing.
What do I want to get out of bootcamp?
Any improvement is better than none so while I'll try to get as much out of it as I can I won't be raging if I don't turn into a big time player. ![]()
One specific thing I'd be interested in is making some new poker friends. As I currently I don't really talk with anyone playing around same stakes or same games. I tend to shy away of making such connections as a lot of players I've encountered had very negative attitude towards poker, variance etc. But hopefully here is the place for people who have positive attitude towards playing and improving at this game.
Well, that's it for now. Hope I was informative enough and didn't bore you too much.
