Got a ?... playing in a tourny. player bets, everyone folds, you show a card to him, after showing a card., can you call and or reraise, or is your hand dead?
Hey woodwright,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com
Is this a home game or a game at a casino? I haven't played much live at all. I guess rules vary from casino to casino though.
Regards,
Gary
no it s not dead.In most casinos it is dead only if you cross the line in front of you with cards. You can do anything with your cards...you can eat them if you want ♦
In my local Casino - If you show a card, or even both you can still continue to play the hand but you can not make any aggressive moves such as Betting/Raising. You can only Check/Call/Fold.
Your hand is not dead unless your away from the table, over the line or mucked.

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure that your hand is dead if you show it to anybody while your still in the hand if you are playing at a casino. In homegames there aren't really any written rules besides those you have between the players in the game.
And btw I don't think you are allowed to/should eat your cards, since that would pretty much lose you the pot since it will be pretty hard to get a showdown. ♦
It depends. That is why floor manager exists in a casino. If it was without intention to do that, you are allowed, but original raiser is allowed to see that card. Otherwise, your hand is dead.
